Lost Alpha is a new episode of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series made by dezowave group for free!
Then it was almost done, i have decided to make new one, however it was really beautiful and brings so much feelings:). Late summer, there is a lot of greens, so fresh air.. Deserves to be shown!
What do you think about it?
I don't know why, but the Dx9 looks way better. You can't see a lot of effects in this one.
Every render has it own pluses, i like dx10 it have "magic" too. It is so interesting to make such things for one game but in three variations at the same time, it makes brains:)
When Lost Alpha initially released, there were some features that were broken or not available in DX 10 but which worked in DX 9, I remember.
Looks geat !
It would be cool if the Dc comes with different Seasons to choose.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, all with different in game dates to start.
stalker and different seasons?...
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! =)
I would like to see it.
I dont want a second Autumn Aurora but something in the lins of the Evoiment Plugins for stalkersoup
no dx11... sucks! i know that CoP dx11 is ****, but you guys have the source code, you could implement dx11 and make a better use of it. dx 10 in 2014 is so-so.
Of course it would be changed:)
For people like you, 11 is just another number. DX11 doesn't make graphics better, it's a tool for programmers to build the graphics on.
Now, implementing DX11 to LA engine will take another half a year (oh, without SkyLoader it will take forever) and it will be pretty much pointless since DX11 only has ve-ery few improvements compared to DX10. "Soft shadows" and "tesselation" are not worth time neither efforts you need to port DX11 to the engine, and they will improve the visuals far less than new fine-tuned weather and other bits of content.
Ultimately, DX11 won't harm, but it's like the last thing on priorities list just because it's not worth it.
I agree with that this will take a lot of time. But For my oppinion tesselation is something that worth of spending time.
they have a dx11 folder in shaders, maybe they wanted to implrement it or even they may have a raw version of engine with dx 11, but, probably, they decided to spent time on something else, like therir "very intresting story line".
In this game-mod i see two major improvement. these are very nice dx10
and rebuilt levels. But this is much less then most people expected after 7 year of development. And all recent patches realy show how much they make improvements/time spend. They(Dezowave) are just sloooooooww as hell...
And what is more concerning is that they probably want to leave this project after DC released
Im not the guy that ussualy says "oh, common im not paying you money, but i demand that that and that to be done..." but in this particular case my conscience let me do this.
This means we must work on LA till we die? Did you know what is x-ray? Somebody talk it's a "Devil"...
Well, then release sources and let the striving mod and fan community bring LA to an adequate state, im sure there will be people that will make some gooood mod for it
In my opinion, it's better to spend time on making the exising stuff better than switching to something new while the old stuff isn't done fine.
Graphics are good (some models and textures arent't though), the AI and game design are far less advanced than the current DX10 renderer.
but they have like 10-15 guys in the team, why the "graphics guys" dont continue to do graphics stuff and the "scripting guys" could do the ai and content stuff !?
10-15 guys? You kidding??
ohh sorry... EVEN 27 guys!
i like that shot very much, but it would be nice to see the same scene and same season with DX9 renderer so i can see what you all talk about ? :D
Don't listen to anybody guys! DX 10 looks AMASING! You have some pretty competent artistic taste I must say.
I think it makes no sense to look for flaws when seen so much beauty, right?:)
Artistic flaws are bad...however flaws base on some stupid realism "idea" are ... well... stupid. I don't see any artistic flaws in DX 10 Lost Alpha)
