This mod rebalances the game to look and feel closer to the TV shows (TNG-DS9-VOY), including in weapons use. It also adds factions such as the Ferengi. Restores and upgrades the more scary Armada I / Next Generation borg instead of the nerfed and bad Armada II voyager borg; while also staying balanced. Dominion will be added as well as all factions will get interesting superweapons. Also research to not have such ugly selection blurbs, and AI upscaling/contrast enhancing/batch processing of textures and bumpmaps. Phaser and torpedo regraphics/rebalance. To allow the AI to use more than one ability at a time, some special abilities have been turned into weapons.
Description
Features: This mod adds the Ferengi faction to the game as well as restores the Armada 1 look and feel for the Borg. There are some graphics improvements such as changing distance LOD for the higher graphic settings. Ferengi are fully AI enabled. AI has been made stronger in general by freeing it from prerequisites, though it still respects build orders. There are some tech changes, and all weapons cost energy to fire (kinda buggy due to energy is spent in any attack mission even if the craft hasn't reached the objective, blame the base code programmers). There are a host of other minor and not so minor changes, like reducing the offensive power and build cost of starbases. The mod is compatible with campaigns. Install: Just extract into an empty folder, the game is abandonware and there is no legitimate way to buy it. Remember to set compatibility mode in newer systems (try win 2000 or XP mode). It works in win 7, 64 bits.

Further versions will add custom explosions to all factions that trigger in any craft being destroyed (here as in normal Armada, only big craft and stations generate a shockwave - except now added custom color shockwaves in for Borg craft and stations)
