DOWNLOAD LITHIUM CYBERIZED : Google Drive link

Lithium Cyberized is a submod based on Alison "Marrub" Sanderson's amazing Lithium mod. Based on a modified version of Lithium 1.4. It takes a look back to the older days of the mod and tries to tone down things a bit in order to focus only on the bare essentials of the experience. Think of this like Lithium The Lost Content. If you have not played the original version of Lithium yet, you should, just for your own peace of mind. The original mod is NOT required to play Cyberized. But just in case you want the original (again, it's not required!), here's the link : Forum.zdoom.org

You play as Stan Blazkowicz, a cybernetically enhanced marine commando sent on the ultimate black ops mission : kill Satan and erase the word "Hell" from dictionaries. Using your cyber implants, you must overcome the cruel and terrible foes from both hell and earth, from demons of hell to rogue shadow marines sent to jeopardize your mission. Besides your cybernetic prosthetics, you also have the Computer Brain Interface (CBI) to access a variety of lore related entries and the ability to customize your character to your whim. Every replay is going to be different, and every problem has multiple solutions, so don't be afraid to be creative and solve things in different ways.

New gameplay mechanics include being able to use the grappling hook to pull yourself, enemies or objects wherever you want, shimmering and climbing on ledges, grabbing and running on walls, and most importantly, radically revamped enemies and completely overhauled graphics and sounds. The art style and music has been reimagined to a cyberpunk synthwave aesthetic, similar to games such as Furi, Hotline Miami and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. Click on "Read More" for more information.

  • CYBERIZE, ADAPT, OVERCOME

If Hideous Destructor is like Ghost Recon meets Doom, Lithium Cyberized is like Deus Ex meets Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon meets Doom. Use your cybernetic powers to overcome your enemies, all of which also have new AI features such as morale and field of view. Combine gameplay mechanics and solve problems in unexpected ways. Don't just play like Doomguy, THINK like Doomguy. Be on his shoes. Immerse yourself. Enemies will also panic and run away if you attack by surprise and do well. Your allies will also cheer up and fight besides you the better you do. Also included in the mod is a New Game Plus mode that lets you start any campaign with weapons and items previously collected, a Doom 2016 FOV option (instead of playing with FOV set to 90, you can play with FOV set to 110), and a whole bunch of other options, features and easter eggs just around the corner for you to find!

  • IT'S NOT ABOUT HUMANITY VS DEMONS ANYMORE, IT'S ABOUT THE UNIVERSE VS HELL.

1648 years after the events of Doom 2, the world, or should I say universe, is radically different. Flynn Taggart (the original Doomguy) is long gone. Play as Stan Blazkowicz, one of his descendants, and rally the universe together in order to defeat hell one more time and save existence from extinction. Well, you don't need to fight to save the universe, just fight to get a cool ass sword and one trillion score points, because if the universe is extinct, it's bad for business! Not only will you fight besides allied marines, but you can also call upon renegade and converted demons to fight alongside you, all of which have different traits and can support you in a variety of different ways. Ever wanted to assemble an army of Archviles and Chaingunners? Now you can. You can now give the medicine back to Plutonia! Ever wanted to bring an army of different demons and humans together that'll make Avengers Infinity War look like a lame crossover? Now you can!

  • A SPACE MARINE IS YOU, MAKE DOOM CYBER AGAIN

To complement the awesome cybernetic theme of the mod, included is a synthwave jukebox randomizer containing more than 99 selected hits! Every song is carefully selected and curated provide maximum cyber punk. Did I say the word CYBER enough on this summary? Become a better cyborg and cyberize your enemies thanks to... cyberwave music. Playlist available here : Youtube.com

The year is 1649, New Era. It is the future. Become Stan Blazkowicz, a cyborg, and immerse yourself in a cyberpunk reimagining of the Doom universe.

Hey, hey you!

Have you ever thought Doom was not enough like Blade Runner? Do you want less blue and more purple? Do you want to be a cyber commando? Do you want to more synthwave music? Do you want Doom to play less like Aliens meets Evil Dead 2 and more like Deus Ex meets Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon in Doom?

If so, BOY do I have the mod for you!

And if you don't agree with me, that's okay! ᴵ ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ᵈᵒⁿᵗ ᶜᵃʳᵉ ʷʰᵉⁿᵉᵛᵉʳ ʸᵒᵘ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ᶦᵗ ᵒʳ ⁿᵒᵗ

Also try Doom Roguelike Arsenal by Yholl, Final Doomer+ by Sgt Shivers, and of course, the original Lithium by Marrub for other cyberpunk Doom mods!

Here's a cool poster in case you want it :

Okay,so I played this a while and here is my feedback. For information, I played this on TNT Evilution and I removed CatsVisor because I'm not too much of a fan of it, as well as the realistic aiming script.

•Whenever I start the game, the FOV becomes ultra zoomed in after setting Doom 2016 FOV, which I have to re-select to fix it.
•SUAB's monsters are nice, but it's sad not to see any of the DUCK cast. Perhaps SUAB-ifying them and randomizing them with the others could work.
•New skins for the weapons would be nice.
•Even after removing the Freedoom textures, the menu stays in the style of Freedoom.
•Are the friendly characters only avaiable from the menu? Adding them somewhere in the gameplay would be much better.
•Some features from newer Lithium versions such as smooth SSG anims or other cosmetic stuff could be adopted.
•The LegenDoom Options are not accesible. I would also reccomend to add Champions in pair with it.
•Smaller pickups/already owned weapons should be picked up automatically.

Those were the suggestions/reports of bad stuff.
Now for the positive things!

•Finally a good way to experience Lithium without too much RPG.
•A little more friendly to Doom lore.
•Automated CHANGEMAP, yay.
•Although you initially seem to be very slow, but once Parkmore is mastered you're blazing fast.
•Because of the new mechanics, Phantom battles are less sluggish.
•The new tint to the HUD is really cool (tho it disappears after removing CatsVisor)
•The lack of the second character makes everything feel more doomy.
•I see that weapons do less damage/enemies have more health, so I can't spam the Gauss Rifle anymore.

Thank you for your review! Although I think you should've posted your thoughts on the review section (this mod has been laying around for a week and still has no reviews! makes me sad), this gives me an opportunity to address some of your concerns.

-ZDoom team and their infinite wisdom decided that you cannot permanently change FOV without changing every single weapon script. I attempted to give players a bit of option when it comes to FOV, but ZDoom by default always loves to reset it's FOV to 90 everytime you start literally anything (map, game, etc). I cannot fix that without going into every weapon actor and literally changing everything.

-DUCK monsters are here, but they are allied to the player. Go to Cyberized Options and select "Call for Backup". The monsters are also renamed to FreeDoom terms too just to make their names a bit different and non-demonic (since these "monsters" are allied to the player now, they wouldn't have names like "Cyberdemon" and "Baron of Hell". I hope that's not annoying. They're demons converted by the UAC to fight for the human side, so they would have different names. This is not some sort of censorship or whatever, since the actual enemy demons still have fittingly hellish names, as you can see with the Vital Scanner.

-I did change some of the weapon skins, namely the Plasma Diffuser and the Omega Cannon. I kept the rest the same because I already liked their sprites. You can't fix what isn't broken, lol. My main focus is to only improve what wasn't great and keep everything that WAS good the same. I really hate when games just change things and remove cool stuff just for change. Case in point : Watch Dogs 2 from Watch Dogs 1. Some things are great but then they removed the good stuff from the first one just because "they needed to change things". If it's not broken, don't fix it. I changed the Plasma Diffuser and Omega Cannon specifically as I felt their sprites felt a bit off-putting (it doesn't match the rest of the weapons in terms of art style) and they kinda look weird and out of place, a bit amateurish in my opinion. I did change most of the sounds though and only kept what I *really* liked.

-To remove the menu FreeDoom textures, remove "1DUCKgfxCM.wad". I included some of the menu textures from FreeDoom in a separate file since "FreeDMgfx" does not contain them.

-I'm not great at compiling things so I couldn't backport features from the later versions of Lithium into it. I wish I could've done that. Maybe someday, but at the moment I'm pretty much done with this mod. I spent a few months elaborating all this and making sure everything works correctly. The SUAB monsters weren't compatible with ZDoom at all so I had to make it work myself. I also had to put individual names for every track that appears in the Synthwave Jukebox too, and that took me HOURS of work. I even converted every single mp3 file into ogg as well and having to rename each one of them too. If I hear the word "work" anytime soon this month, that would be too soon. Maybe someday I'll update this, but definitely not now. I'm satisfied with what I have. It has a few nitpicks here and there, but then again, nothing is perfect. At least it's as good as I could've currently done, and that alone makes me happy. I tried my best.

-LegenDoom options aren't available because Lithium's boss spawning system can be essentially cheated if you set it to certain settings. For example, if there's a legendary Imp with 500 or more health that spawns in the first level, it might spawn a Phantom directly when not intended. I removed the options so the game isn't unbalanced because of this bug. I'm sorry. I might try to include a very limited options menu with decreased maximum settings so the player cannot "cheat" the Phantom Marine spawning system (because they spawn with any monster with more than 500 health), but I cannot guarantee that.

-I cannot include Champions as it's incompatible with ZDoom 2.8.1. I wanted to make this mod compatible with ZDoom first and foremost, and THEN GZDoom. However, if you're using GZDoom, Champions isn't a bad idea. May I suggest Slomo Bullettime Ultimate as well? That mod plays really well with Lithium. I definitely recommend those two in case people are using GZDoom.

-Maybe next time I can try to implement a system that picks up small items/ammo and already owned weapons. Maybe one of the earlier Hideous Destructor versions may have a script that has it, but I'm not sure. I'll stick with a "maybe".

I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the mod though. SUAB's monsters are definitely harder to kill than their vanilla Doom counterpart, and combined with Lithium's already overpowered weapons, makes for interesting fights. Every enemy has peculiar strengths and weaknesses and every weapon is fit to kill a specific kind of demon. Experiment with all the guns with all the enemies and you'll see what I mean.

Again, thanks for your feedback. Please leave a review later if possible!

Hi there. I play the mod with gzdoom 4.0.0 and I have a problem. The freelook feels somewhat of.. It kinda lags but everything except that runs perfectly fine. Has anyone else this problem? It only happened sometimes after a few seconds in game.. Is it possible that my SlomoBulletTime_Ultimate addons is making that?

Try removing "3HDRealism.wad". If that doesn't work, downgrade the engine.

In an age where celebrities keep bashing their customers for differing opinions and criticisms, I really appreciate that complement. However, this mod would be pointless if nobody liked it, and for that alone, I'm the one who's thankful for all the support, criticism and opinions alike.

Hope I'm not being a pest, but I've got one more question: is there any way to remove the enemy footsteps? I saw a footstep volume in the Cyberized mod menu, but that didn't seem to lessen enemy footsteps. I also saw a file in the OPTIONAL folder called "8Footsteps.wad"; I added that to my load order but that didn't remove the footsteps soundfx.

The enemy footstep noise isn't a huge issue, but it can be a little grating to constantly hear someone stomping around through walls and doors.

Yes and no. You can remove the enemy footsteps, but since they're integrated in the SUAB monster pack (5CyberSUAB.wad), that means you'll have to remove the new monsters entirely. If you do that, the game will revert back to vanilla Lithium enemies. They have some new sprites and sounds, but some things might conflict.
I don't recommend removing the SUAB monsters, but if it absolutely irritates you, you should remove it. Vanilla Lithium enemies ain't that bad, although I heavily prefer the new SUAB monsters since they don't have hitscan attacks and they are also randomized with different variants and fun things.

Looks like a fantastic extension to a great mod! Downloading it right now.

EDIT: Played a little bit of it, and I like most of what I've experienced so far.

I have to say that the only thing so far that I haven't liked is the need to hit the "use" key to pick up items. I read your post explaining why you chose to make the mod that way, and I get how useful item management can be, especially in harder map packs. But just a couple of maps into Doom 1 I just found the feature annoying. Constantly holding down the "use" key throughout the maps to pickup every health or armor powerup just felt cumbersome, and I actually stopped my playthrough because I felt it would eventually get too much on my nerves. I realize I don't have to play the game that way, but you get used to picking up that health potion or armor piece when you see it.

Would you consider having the pickup function be a feature the player can toggle on/off thru the in-game Cyberized mod menu? Like, if it's turned on you have to hit "use" to pick up health, armor, and weapons, and if it's turned off, you pick up things automatically like normal. That way the mod could be played in your idealized way or the player can play the game in a more familiar way. It's always nice to give the player options.

I just uploaded a new version of Lithium Cyberized, now all you must do is remove "3HDRealism.wad" if you don't want to auto pickup items. Have fun!

Don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, but I've downloaded the new version and removed the "3HDRealism.wad" from my load order, and I still have to hit the "use" key to pick up items.

UPDATE: After experimenting a little, I found out you have to remove both the "3HDestLite.wad" and "3HDRealism.wad" files to enable auto pickup. Just removing "3HDRealism.wad" from your load order doesn't fix the issue.

I renamed the file. HDestLite and HDRealism are pretty much the same file, except I integrated the look bob to HDestLite so people can remove that feature without having to remove the new HUD and allied marines in CyberEXTR.
