LiTDOOM is a STAND ALONE GZDOOM-only mod that merges Brutal Doom's modern gameplay with many new features that will make it closer to a survival game: scarcer ammo drops, bleeding wounds that you can actively treat, Inventory items that can be used to help you in your mission, and randomized monsters and item spawning. Also new weapons, new monsters, new 2D sprites, and new difficulty settings and player classes to tailor the game experience to your personal tastes. In the future I also plan to add a crafting system and other features, based on your feedback, so please give this mod a look so I can improve it, and also improve myself as a first-time noob modder!
You'll beg for a key at some difficulty levels and while playing Survivalist...
This has always been a pet-peeve of mine in video games: why not just break the container-in-question open? Locked boxes, doors, lockers, etc. exist mainly as a deterrent to others wishing to gain access, not as a permanent means of secure storage: that's what safes & vaults are for.
Unless they are a master of lockpicking, attempting to break into a locked door or container is a loud and/or time-consuming process in which the person would most likely be detected either before, or immediately after, breaching said door/container/etc.
Whenever I leave multi-paragraph comments like this, I always feel I should clarify: I'm not trying to break the recipient's balls, or biological equivalent, or give them a hard time: I'm just some overly verbose person on the internet trying to be somewhat helpful. I only just found this project today and from what I'm seeing & reading, it really looks like something I'd love to play.
