cKataphract, screen_recording: A image - Legio~Cybernetica (SoulStorm) mod for Dawn of War: Soulstorm
Adds a reimagined version of Legio~Cybernetica (adapted from my old unfinished winter assault mod) to Dawn of War SoulStorm, Prepare for something a little more unique this time as we go back and adapt some stuff from Chapter Approved Second Edition, get ready to program some robots and let them autonomously destroy your enemies, and because over the years I've actually got more annoyed with how the Forge-world miniatures destroyed Cybernetica's uniqueness by removing their subtle biotic augmetics and making them just like the normal Mechanicus, No more Mecadendrites except for use as weaponry or as a decorative status symbol to show rank
A bad screen recording of test models for infantry scale Cataphract{CORTEX_UNIT} and cKataphract{PAWN} Battle Automata,
When the majority of Cataphract[Master_Unit]s were formally retired from active service at the end of the Horus Heresy, the mindless Cataphract[Slave_Unit]s, rendered all-but useless by the absence of any Cortex bearing automata to guide them in battle, were repurposed to create cKataphract{PAWN}s; These "New" Automata were fitted with mechanisms permitting the manual installation of Doctrina Wafers in which sections of Cortex Automata Programming had been stored; Each cKataphract maniple's former Technician was retrained to act as a Data-Smith, now manually guiding their robots in battle, rather than merely maintaining them in the field;
cKattaphract{PAWN}s, though unwieldly, are efficient combatants when properly guided by their Data-Smith operator, (or when the situation merits it, by a modified Cataphract Battle automata, restored to active service and once again using it's advanced Cortex system to guide them in combat)
These guys are probably going to be the main Tear 1 Robot, accessible from the start of a battle, (man sized, reasonably effective, reasonably cheap, but will require manual control, via manual swapping of doctrina wafers, (until later when cortex automata become available))
These models are kind of replacing the Kasdread (Kastellan/Dreadnaught hybrid) model I was messing with before
(The Kasdread is going to be adjusted to be a cKastellan slightly more representative of the real Kastellan model, though partly equipped with Classic Legio~Cybernetica Loadouts and with a Castellan Battle Automata variant as a Cortex Unit to command it)
