The Crypt/Krypta - 3/10

This custom story is... Consistently terrible all the way throughout, start to finish. The house in the beginning is the ugliest house I've seen in any custom story I've played up to this point. There's an overabundance of light sources making the house extremely bright, and every single surface of the floor has rugs all over it that just look like complete ****.

Even in levels that could possibly be considered good design, the creator continues to **** it up by hiding items required to progress in seriously ridiculous places that the player has NO WAY of knowing they're there in the first place. Need to open a gate? Slide a bookshelf? Have fun looking for the miniature lever hidden behind something, or blending in with the background! Need to dig something up? There's no indication of where to use the shovel! Need to dig up a grave? Good luck finding the extremely hidden shovel!

It doesn't help that through the ENTIRE CUSTOM STORY you're given like 1 or 2 bottles of oil. You also aren't given ANY tinderboxes, except for like 5 maximum! The grammar is also very bad. There's also a puzzle at the end where you hop across platforms that disappear underneath you and there is no tell of where to go, it's just trial and error, have fun dying repeatedly while the main character pretends they did it first try.

Not a bad mod, he scared me with both the atmosphere and the jumpscapes.The atmosphere is of course really ominous!And all this kept me in suspense until the very end of the game.
For me, there was a big negative in the fact that a lot of things were not translated into English(I mean pictures), which is why we lose a lot of the plot...

Really badly designed, was this even play tested? First I will start off by saying the map design and aesthetics are great, including the music, but the puzzle design just seems to be co0mpletely stupid. The first puzzle you have to find a tiny level hidden in a corner, that's not fun or creative, that's just plain stupid. The following maps were fine, until I reached the cemetery..

Now if I recall correctly, the cemetery had an update to it, but did it even fix anything? I would expect it to work, since I'm playing the "patched" version of the story, but the cemetery is so badly designed that it feels like the original version. First off, the map takes literally around a minute to just load up, which is ridiculous for Amnesia standards, I thought it crashed the first time I loaded into it! I've played way more detailed maps that take less time to load up, and this is a very small map as well, as i saw which we'll get to momentarily.. So the first puzzle you're expected to do, is utilize physics objects to climb over into the graveyard. However, if you try to do this at the other locked place, the cemetery, there's a magic invisible wall above it, which makes no sense if I'm allowed to do it at the other place. Now this is where I got stuck. I'm expected to grab a shovel to dig into a grave of a particular individual, I found the shovel, it's in the warehouse, however I can't pick it up? No idea why but the game won't let me pick up or even move the shovel, retried a few times as well. Also, what's the deal with the random speed increases/decreases here? The triggers are put in the most random nonsensical spots for some reason.

This was the last straw, I very, VERY easily climbed up onto the wall, to attempt to skip some of the map, allas was unsuccessful, but I did get a view of how small the map was as I clipped out of bounds, why did it take so bloody long to load?

Unfortunate, as I can tell that a lot of time and effort was put into this, but next time, get some bloody play testers!

Some pages (at the end for example) weren't translated! Especially at the end that wasn't a good thing, because I now cannot fully understand the story.

Otherwise really great custom story! Made much fun to play it. But the end was a bit weak and many puzzles weren't really creative, just time consuming. Most things were just really well hidden.

So why the rating is 7/10:
- unique level design (I liked especially the swamp cabin area)
- the CS offers a different experience than other CS's
- many original puzzles
- a very good storyline
- custom models and static objects

What prevents this custom story from having 10/10 rating:
- the "f*ck you player" levers (the first one was OK, but the second wasn't)
- almost no oil (only two small oil potions in the whole CS with a lot of darkness?!)
- the "notes" at the very beginning and almost at the end are not translated, why are they still Polish?
- the translation took months to complete? A translation of this CS would take like a few days at most
- the senseless "platform puzzle" at the end has no hint nor anything that would say how to get pass the area
- a "not-thought-through" script at the cemetery which can result slowing down the player for the rest of the gameplay (happened to me, I hated it)
- the crypt area ("dungeon") is too big and I was lucky to find the lockpick
- "blocked doors" aren't "blocked", wouldn't you prefer the word "stuck"?

Generally, a very good custom story, but it can easily p*ss of choleric players, like me, because it has many senseless and horrible elements.

Deserve 9, but lack of mementos, very confused.
Translation is not perfect, just a bit understandable.
I cannot understand the history, due to the bad translation.
Loved the gameplay, but many object are untouchables.
At the end I cannot understand a single word, because a czec(?) language.
So, it end like a Quake-one map: you survived an that's all.
I love Quake, but this is Amnesia!

Positives:

- Creativity
- Intresting maps and events
- Custom items

Negatives:

- Only jumpscares more or less
- Really confusing sometimes
- Horrible english translation
- A lot of things did not make any sense due to the horrible language

The story was pretty good actually, I just didn't understand very much of it because of the horrible english translation. I clicked on locked doors and it said "blocked" even though nothing was blocking them on any sides, a note said a "key is in trunk of bird", seriously, the english is so bad so I couldn't be that bad even if I tried to be horrible on purpose.

The level design have a few glitches but is really good and intresting in general and I really like the custom items, especially the custom corpses.

Conclusion:

It's a decent story with a lot of thoughts and creativity put into it. The scares were kinda lame and it was pretty confusing at times (might be because I didn't understand half of the notes and mementos though).

But the english file need a huge update. I actually have comments on other sites I made when I was around 12 years old, and those comments are really good compared to this. Even when I try to be as bad as I can on purpose, this story still tops that.

7/10 - Good
