KKND Frontfire is a 3D single player first person shooter adaptation of the 2D strategy game 'KKND 2: Krossfire'. It is developed by the European non-profit source mod studio "Eternal Eight Studios" from Karlsruhe Germany as a Half-Life 2 modification in the Source® engine. The goal of the mod developers is similar to what Westwood Studios did with their C&C Renegade 2D/3D conversion back in the days.
The player, as part of the Survivor Army, is sent into military missions against the enemies of mankind (the mutants, called The Evolved and the self-aware agriculture robots of the series 9) still controlling Earth's surface and its resources 100 years after the first nuclear war took place in 2079 that forced humans to take shelter underground in the first place. The player fights these enemies in order to ultimately lead the Survivor Army to victory and "reconquer earth for mankind"!
