A late demo is better than no demo

The Kitsune Beta demo is finally available for download!

It's been a fair amount of time coming, and even if it isn't complete, I hope you have fun with it!

This demo includes:

-Four levels in semi-final stages, from various points in the campaign
-Multiple new weapons added to the sandbox
-Completed alt-fire functionality (Press G while holding any weapon that has secondary ammo)
-Interactive environments & debris, including explosive barrels, destructible walls for enhanced level navigation & other fun stuff!
-New and overhauled HUD elements

Hello! Sorry for the gap between actual updates here on ModDB, but here we are now!

Aesthetic Reworks - Back to the Classics
The first gameplay demo and early screenshots showed off a drab color palette in the levels and HUD, with lots of faded browns, pale whites and pitch blacks. We've gone back and added some color to the light system and HUD, as well as giving some levels a new coat of paint so that they'll fit a bit better with the more retro anime aesthetic we're building towards.

The Episodic Formula - Spacing things out a bit
Kitsune is going to take a long time to develop - a lot longer than I initially anticipated (I actually had it slotted for Januar 1st 2019, oopsie-) As a result, Kitsune is going to be a two-part story. Vol. I should HOPEFULLY be released in late 2019, with Vol. II possibly in mid-2020.

The Discord, and Building a Team
As I said, Kitsune is going to be no small undertaking, and I'm gonna need a hand. I'm planning on opening a Discord server where you can voice inquiries about joining the team or anything else about the project, as well as sharing your own creations, or just having fun with NotSoBot. The server isn't done, but I will post a link in the comment chain once it's public!

Hello! Welcome to the one and a half-th update for Kitsune!

This is basically just a progress report before update 2, to let you people know where the project is at the moment.

New Enemy Sprites Samples

Gang (Standard baddies for the first half of the game. Just your average street scum.)

Bodyguards/Hired Guns (Second standard baddies. Usually seen guarding mansions, office complexes, & other stuff. They're on the more legal end of the spectrum, yet they're still in a moral gray area.)

Police (Uncommon enemies, only seen in the middle & last acts. Somewhat inspired by the whats-their-faces from that one really disappointing cyberpunk show on Netflix)
