Kearn Manor
***UPDATE
Kearn Manor is now being developed as a defusal map for Counter Strike:Source. Much of the original content for Kearn Manor is now being reworked into a robust level with many fun surprises. Development is moving quickly which should produce a Beta level in the next few months. Stay tuned!
Background
Gordon finds his train departing the crumbling citadel taking an unexpected detour. Hidden deep among the coastal mountain ridges are tracks that lead to the forgotten Kearn Manor. At Kearn Manor, Gordon discovers the combine have taken dominion over one of the last places of magnificence and tranquility.
In hiding, the manor care takers monitor communications from the resistance. Their savior has arrived but to a nearly impossible challenge facing an immense number of heavily armed invaders. Fortunately for Gordon, Kearn Manor has many well kept secrets that will aid the crucial infiltration of fierce combine forces. Both heroism and intelligence will be required to overcome the combine and restore peace to Kearn Manor.
The Project
The Kearn Manor project will bring a new level of art and beauty to the fps world. The inspiration for Kearn Manor is Hearst Castle. Hearst Castle is an enormous luxury palace built by William Randolph Hearst from the 1920s to the 1940s. If you're not already familiar with it, you can learn more about it here:
En.wikipedia.org
The Hearst Castle makes a great setting because of the quantity of interesting and attractive locations that fit so nicely together. The end product will be part game and part sight seeing. I'm hoping the quality of scenes produced will encourage players to stop and soak in the environment they are playing in. The focus is creating interesting game play in jaw dropping landscapes. Detail for detail accuracy from the real location is not necessary nor desired. Gameplay will be a mix of challenging large scale puzzle solving and intense fps action sequences.
The tentative release date is set for Spring of 2008. If you are interested in helping out with this mod, please stop by our website and forum:

The new screenshots are kickin' rad! Keep it up, Naticus ;)
Starts feeling like a new Tomb Raider to me...in a good way :P
WOW.Nice screenies
Thanks! My complaint is with the forum exclusion rule. Even if you had a sophisticated web forum including media and other essential elements with its own unique url, your mod would still be banned. There is some room to make the rules a little more accomodating.
I think the rules are understandable at modDB. Also, nice screenshots! :D
Absolutely Babuzaa. The storyline and gameplay are in development and will get lots of special attention. A trailer should be ready in a month or two which will give you a much better feel for what the mod will be like.
Will there be somekind of a storyline?
I've had a few requests from others to use roman pool for textures or gameplay and for now I'd like to wait until my mod is released. After that, any content from it will be fair game for all to use.
I mean as in a showcase video, not in the mod as a map.
Yeah, thanks :D
Also, Half-Left includes a Melee Engine so you can punch and kick. I am going to demonstrate this effect in various maps when I release it as a separate add-on after Half-Left, so my question would be could I do a scene where the player kicks a guy down the roman pool in your map? You will get your name in the credits if you accept it.
Not a problem Renegade, sorry about my name confusion. I mostly use Naticus in forums but natcarm has always been my email which I'm using with my website. Your mod is looking great. Half-left is a really cool concept. Can't wait to see it finished!
