It looks kind of odd when it's in little patches like that. Is there any way to enlarge the model of those patches to where they are overlapping each other so it looks like a solid field? That would look much better and closer to the original.

The description also says the veins damage infantry and vehicles. Veins were triggered by weight, so when something heavy moved on a vein it would react violently and start lashing at whatever moved on it. Infantry were light enough to pass over them, but anything larger than a car would get thrashed (except Harvesters, but this was due to game balance mechanics). Buuut if the change was intentional then disregard this. lol

Unfortunately I'm not the creator of the models, messing with them too much in max without having the original source can just break them, and simply increase the total size with tools is not that much of good idea considering they supposed to be in the size of tibrium crystal, I did fixed the Veins animations though, I guess we can just place them really close to each other or on top of them to make it look like forest of veins xD.

As for the damage part I don't recall much of their behavior in TS but with their current model and size it will look weird for inf to not get hurt by them (they basically look like they will eat them if they just come too close :P)

In TS the veins were secondary resource for Nod's nuke and other stuff iirc, but in TW EA didn't kept the two resources method, even in TE mod afaik they can be harvest but will give money just like your typical tib crystal xD

I meant increasing the size of the model making it look larger than it appears. It would still be the same size as a crystal patch seen above, but the model would be enlarged to overlap and make it look like a solid field.

And of course an appropriate ground texture would also help with the spacing issue.

Perhaps it'd be interesting if basic infantry could cross the outer vein patches without harm, rather they incur a speed penalty due to the tricky terrain. While heavier soldiers such as Grenadiers, Black Hand, Zone Troopers & cyborgs are attacked due to their weight agitating the creature.
That said I'm not opposed to it indiscriminately attacking anything that attempts to cross it.

The texture did bothered me a bit and I considered recolor it, but taking a second look it sort of fit to some red zone ground textures with you have in WB so I thought I should pay my respect for the original creator by not changing anything (aside fixing the vines animations)

Ah, sorry you've misunderstood, I meant just painting a suitable ground texture under the patches in WB should make the spacing issue less noticeable.

I meant to the ground texture of the vein model itself in case you was referring to it as well, we can change it without ruin the color of the veins, but I believe WB texture will be enough

It was uploaded for quite a while to be honest xD

But currently there's no map that have that monsters in them (only the world builder)

I plan on releasing the map sources so that people will have easy time edit them (or may even add them myself to updated maps version)

Credit for UmbrellaSecrets (and for Sgt. Rho, R3ven, and Bob, for helping him) For the Vein Hole monster and Veins models

Vein Hole monster been added to World Builder together with it's veins

The Vein will damage any infantry and vehicle who pass on it, Vein hole's tibrium gas will damage any human infantry who come near it and will kill any unit who walk on it mouth aside Epic units, Extreme units, and aircrafts

Destroy the hole will result in tibirum explosion which will kill all the nearby veins
