Fancy Schmancy high visibility crosshairs for UT2004 Most functional as-is, some require tweaking of crosshair size, a few are for giggles. v8 is the most recent and ultimately the last version to be made. Textures for the crosshairs are still unoptimized, but in my opinion, it shouldn't have been a problem in ~2007, let alone [current year](also, I haven't had UT2004 installed in years) Since various hosting sites for UT2004 have either shut down, restructured, or otherwise ceased hosting UT2004 content, Moddb is currently the only "official" source. File formats included are .U, .UCL, .INT, .UTX, and some html/gifs/etc in the HELP folder

What will the future hold?! Probably not much since the future is leaky, full of holes, and a bit lopsided

Not much for the future really.

Modding in shooters isn't as common as it used to be(well, PVP shooter-wise), especially client side stuff. UT3 was very sparse when it came to crosshair customization, and even custom keybinds had a tendency to require the INI to be set to read only to stick(still a thing in pretty much every UE3+ game I've played)

On top of that, crosshairs today are rarely just a PNG with a mask in an alpha channel for transparency, they tend to be in a large image of a mishmash of bits and pieces that get snipped out and placed by code.

So the future is... whatever devs decide to do. I'm going to advocate for high contrast crosshairs where I can, but until a dev decides to allow crosshair customization, that's all I can do.
