In The Admiral's Service: Ultimate Showdown was initially planned for Starcraft 2, but as Blizzard continually shut out modders, I looked for greener pastures. Supreme Commander seems quite inviting for a total conversion intending to change the game into a giant fleet battle game of biblical proportions, so let's give it a shot, yes?
The Tesla Cruiser is the Mailman's basic
destroyer. At first glance, it appears to be a
destroyer hull with no weapons. However, closer
inspection reveals a curious discovery; its entire
outter hull is electrically charged, flickering
with static energy. When the ship has found a
target or multiple targets, it shoots out lancing
arcs of energy out of specific points in its armor
that chain off of enemies. The more enemies these
chains connect to in a single attack, the more
damage they do to the initial target.
Although physically frail compared to most
Destroyers fielded by other races, the Tesla
Cruiser is an example of Mailman ingenuity - After
observing the Undead field electric weapons to
devastating effectiveness, they managed to develop
their own technology, and this ship was one of the
first to enter the battlefield sporting this
hijacked weaponry.
The Tesla Cruiser's hull is built across
extremely conductive material and it can fire
electric arcs out of virtually any section of its
hull. This unfortunately forced the designers to
design the hull in a very specific way, and as a
result, the ship isn't terribly impressive to
look at. Probably for the better as its weapons
will surely draw attention back to it after the
fight has started.
