The new Kaloth Industries Hydra Corvette boasts
cannon systems typical of KTA designs, built on a
lighter frame designed for inner system defense.
The Hydra is a readily-available low-cost frame
with no shields but decent compact plating. Its
systems have been idiot-proofed to a startlingly
effective degree, giving Hydras one of the most
effective service records in the entire fleet.
Hydras are best deployed against Frigates or
other Corvettes; their shells can hit fighters,
but are wasted against the more numerous opponent
of strike craft.
