Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence is a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2 (A.K.A. BF2). What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically-accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.

This is the carriage and trails from a 6 pdr is it not, and it also looks like you kept the recoil system.

Your right. There wasn't a ton of info on this gun, it may have been very rare. I am not sure if the Israeli's created it on their own, they had a habit of taking an old weapon/vehicle and improving it. The few images we found showed it this way.

We will eventually use the model as a standard 6 pdr, which they also used.

Description

The DEFA D921 90mm smoothbore cannon is a French-made light gun which fires fin-stabilised projectiles and is fitted with a double-baffle muzzle brake. Because of its light weight, it has a low recoil and fires low velocity projectiles. This was one of the many different anti-tank guns used by the IDF.

When firing a fin-stabilised HEAT projectiles, it is capable of penetrating the weaker armor points of some main battle tanks including Soviet T-55s. As well as being a towed anti-tank gun it was also mounted in several light vehicles, including the AML-90 armored car.

Omer did a great job with the texture for this highly detailed model.
