Rebirth is an upcoming game modification that seeks to add more depth to the gameplay, as well as new races. While we are looking to add new game mechanics, we also want to ensure that we'll end up releasing a dynamic, fast paced game that is strategically deep, and offers interesting interactions. Meanwhile we also want to ensure that balance is a #1 priority. In the future, we are looking to add new races, too. We are also drafting concepts for a single player campaign.
Update to the Vaygr Battle Carrier. We heard your feedback, and Myname1zxs made it look more Vaygr for you.
Always remember every developed asset is worthy.
There are ships that do not fit into any race that might come out.
And these would be for sole traders, Rebellious captains, experimental assassin classes of ships, Cult factions or abandon ships...
Also every assets developed that doesn't get implemented into the mod, is a tradable asset.
The best part about modding is the "Easter Eggs" they never expected. :P
Thankfully the lore we are developing can account for a lot of... experimentation.
are there any released lore pieces? i can read
Myname1zxs likes straight lines too much.
If you want to join and help us you can do :)
I'm in agreement with AmDDRed on this one, both this and the previous ship have very long straight lines from nose to tail, which makes for an overly simple outline. In my opinion HW2's ship design already has this problem a lot, but I'd point to some of Pouk's recent work as a way to make more dynamic variations on the Vaygr theme.
The Hiig concept suffers from this more than the revised Vay concept.

I don't know, I'm rather fond of the straight lines, simple ship design myself. Which do you think would be easier to manufacture? Something with a crap ton of details and odd angles, or something that's modular and lots of straight lines and geometric prisms?
The Hiigaran and Vaygr races already have established aesthetic tendencies, and long, straight, unbroken lines go against this (particularly on a Hiig ship). Since they're still in the concept stage, I don't so feel bad asking Myname1z4xs to continue iterating. The Vaygr concept is almost there; I'd keep the visually strong upper bow and break up the long lines everywhere else by drawing inspiration from the carrier, MS, and BC. For the Hiig one, I'd draw from the asymmetry of the carrier and the curved lines of the battlecruiser.
In this mod, in Rebirth, I find that the modellers follow the concept art pretty closely and that if the concept art evolves, it usually just gets filled with colors more than changes shapes.
We have a few modellers that overlap our departments, depends who you count. But they do try to stick to the concept initially. However there is iteration on both sides of the design process. Our flank cruiser for example is still being iterated upon.
All this is my way of saying that constructive criticism is always welcome and does make a difference. Though I am not promising we will agree, nor can we please, everyone :)
That's more than fair.
