The Crossfire mod is a continuation of the HW2 story. Sort of an 'unofficial expansion' if you prefer. We are expanding on the original story, gameplay, and units. Keeping the original 'feel', yet adding to the experience.
if that's that "giant" progenitor ship down below, the one that served as the berth of the dreadnaughts, shouldn't it be oriented differently? I mean, the fattest bit should be the up/down axis shouldn't it?
It's really a matter of opinion. Some mods have the Dreadnaught Berth itself as the bulk of the Foundry. We thought the flat look would be more unique, it would look very Vagyr if it was oriented as you said.
Well, the titles are provided by the person who uploads the picture. Some of them were from JMScomp, some from Quaetam, and some from me.
As to the orientation of the Foundry, the Dreadnaught Berth was horizontal, so that the Dreadnaught(s) itself could stay the way it was supposed to be, vertical. This way, the Dreadnaught(s) can dock with the Foundry without having to reorient itself. Besides, I don't think that there was any evidence that it was oriented any differently, and actually, a lot of evidence support that it was oriented this way.

I was only speaking of aesthetics, it seemed more symetrical with my suggested orientation.
I see how you mean it would look more Vager, but I certainly agree with the part of having the Dreadnaught twist to dock...
Although, for arguments sake, lots of ships list when they're going down ;)
