When I first started playing Command and Conquer, I knew there was something great about the entire presentation. It offered a unique environment, with choices that would result in victory or annihilation. As the series progressed, a great fan base was created and the modding community was born. In the spirit of continuing this tradition to create great content that extends the life of some of the best RTS games ever made.

Homeland Assault has gone through a number of substantial changes. Most notably the name has changed a number of times. Since Generals was released in 2003, I had sought out to learn the new 3d engine, and develop a mod. In the time since then, the name had to be changed because there were either other games or mods that ended up with the name that it had at the time. I've kept the project on ice, waiting for a chance to flesh it out and give it life again.

This is what could be called a semi-total conversion. All of the game units will be replaced with similar real-life counterparts. This is what makes the AI capable of using the new units effectively. The final product will keep the existing AI intact, making epic battles where the AI sends hundreds of new units your way, forcing you to hone your skills and master the key concepts.

Other than the requirements for the AI, everything about the game will be changed. It aims to replace everything that doesn't adhere to the semi-realistic requirements set by the mod's high concept. Modern infantry and tanks, as well as high speed fighter jets and bombers will dominate the battlefield. Support units give the game a bit of variety that adds to the depth that the mod has to offer.

Focusing on a single unit or class for the purposes of completing tasks is not what the aim of this project is. Placeholders may be used until the time is right for certain units to make an appearance on the battlefield. So far though, the actual US Infantry, vehicles, and aircraft have thier counterparts within the game and the AI will use them all against you. Fighting US vs US battles are epic to say the least. You really have to see it to understand.

I hope this helps anyone that might be interested, or just wants to know what this is about. I hope to see some constructive criticism and I'll see you on the battlefield.
