The goal of Half-Life 2 : MMod is to enhance and expand gunplay, combat mechanics and the immersion factor by giving the Player more options and combat opportunities as well as refine how the Player handles his arsenal. Half-Life 2 : MMod also offers minor AI enhancements, extended abilities for combine soldiers, multiple bug fixes, enhanced visuals, VFX re-design, sound redesign and much much more, while keeping nearly every new feature in the mod totally optional.
Another optional feature where you can toggle between default draw distance and new unlimited one, includes draw distance for props, foliage, grass and LOD.
Since EP2 maps are more open ( HL2MMod is EP2 based ) and it's "current year", I felt like this was a much needed addition.
Excellent work like always!
Also, that current year comment is very funny.
Can't wait for this to be finished!
2018 is going to be a great year for Half life mods
Assuming Hunt Down The Freeman doesn't exist
We do not speak of such words but yes.
Very nice!
I can see my house from here !
Its like were going back to the 80's, where we get to see more bush. :D !? :| ..
It's amazing how much better it looks just because of increased draw distance.
Personally i never have seen trees and rocks pop up, but i probably had my settings default already so that all models were to be seen well.
So, i am not really sure why this option would help, but i am probably getting it wrong. All in all, great work!

That's because they fade-in and out, try zooming in with suitzoom on this map, you'll see trees, props and other things fade in and out of the existance. It's a bit jarring when you're driving too. All this setting does is fills up seemingly empty backgrounds, i'm pretty sure GIF itself says it all.
I can't really edit maps, so that's just a little extra to whoever wants a little more visual details on default maps.
Maybe i have seen it, it has been years ago that i played HL2 or its episodes. I do remember the LOD systhem i believe it is called, that when you get closer some models change in to more detailed versions of them. But rock and trees apearing is new to me, but maybe i did see it and forgot about it. It has been long ago,

Yes, LOD's and prop fade are totally diffent things, you shold know about prop fade since you're a mapper, it's mostly controlled by map settings. Launch Episode 2 right now and go to "Riding Shotgun" chapter, if you walk or drive you can see things fade in the closer you get to them and fade out when you're far away from them, it's optimization technique. Here's an exclusive in-dev footage if you're still confused : Youtu.be
Yes, i know the difference between them. I just said i can't remember seeing it in HL2 or the eps itself. But that is probably because it has been years ago that i played them, about 7 at least or so. As a mapper i always did set my models so that they never did disapear which could be done because i optimazed my maps always to the full extent.

Wait you can duel wield weapons?
