This mod is about setting some historical facts about Bosnia straight. There's a lot of mess in the Balkans during the medieval age which Paradox Interactive has simplified more than usual.

Bosnia will now have their own culture, their unique Bogomilist Church and national ideas that are unique for this country during the playable period.

The mod will allow a new religion to spawn in the Balkans (Bogomilist), making the mix of cultures and religions in the region even more diverse, which will render the Ottoman conquest slightly slower and a bit more realistic. Acceptance of Bosnian culture will now be distinct from neighboring cultures which wasn't the case in the vanilla version. This had always resulted in having one large portion of the Balkans integrated into Ottoman Empire at once, which was incorrect in historical terms.

As I mentioned, there will be new national ideas for Bosnia. Ideas that are related to the defensive terrain, Bosnian Church being free from Catholic and Orthodox influence (resulting in a slight bonus for technology research), a slightly better army and a prestige idea that is derived from unique Bosnian monuments, the Stećci.

One smaller addition are traditional Bosnian names for that era, providing military leaders and personnel with more diverse names.

A major event related to the survival of the country is now available. I won't reveal more details, because it's supposed to be a surprise event that players aren't supposed to know in advance. All I can say is, you will have to choose sides.

In essence, this mod is about historical plausibility of the Balkans region, but also adds up some interesting gameplay changes that will see the Balkans changing more dynamically than it was before.

Compatibility: version 1.22.0.0)
Installation: Extract all contents from the archive, copy them to "mod" folder inside the main game folder. If there's no folder named "mod", you can create one. You're probably playing via Steam, so be careful, the path should be like this:

Just remove the Historical Bosnia contents from the "mod" folder.

Plans for the future: Adding more flavor events, decisions etc.

All good mod !! Really like the names and the Bogomili religion.
Ideas also seem to be very more Bosnian, which is more historical.
But I don't think Bosnians were much different culture; in that time, Bosnians called themselves Serbs, and were always closely tied with Serbia (that's why paradox added historical friendship between Serbia and Bosnia).
All in all, good mod, I reccomend it !!

Thanks for the compliments.

As for your idea that Bosnians called themselves Serbs, it's totally off. It's like claiming that Serbs called themselves Bosnians because paradox added historical friendship between Bosnia and Serbia.

You know, it could be claimed both ways.

No, it can't really be claimed both ways? Because the basis for Bosnians calling themselves Serbs isn't Paradox adding a historical friendship between them, it's just historical fact. The cultural identity "Bosnian" first began to form after their conquest by the Ottomans and conversion to Islam.

Of course you're unlikely to agree with any of this since you're Bosnian, but hey.
