Seriously gorgeous! Made Hexen bearable for playing for finding those blasted switches! But Seriously, This is like Skyrim level pretty for environment textures. It was astounding.
Cannot find a game IWAD (doom.wad, doom2.wad, heretic.wad, etc.).
Did you install GZDoom properly? You can do either of the following:
1. Place one or more of these wads in the same directory as GZDoom.
2. Edit your gzdoom-username.ini and add the directories of your iwads
to the list beneath [IWADSearch.Directories]
This is wild in VR. I took gzdoomvr 4.6.1 and copied the files over what was in this package and updated the batch to use the gzdoomvr.exe
I can get up close to the wall textures which look like rock that became liquid, but then was frozen in time. I can see the ripples in the floor tiles and pillars. The door textures are in 3D, they have shape and depth.
oh, and smashing glass comes flying in my face.
Now I just need to know how integrate the file gzdoom_xwarp3d-items_01.pk3 into this package. The xwarp makes a few of the monsters 3d, plus the stone gargoyles, and the fire stands, and the inventory items that you can pick up are all in 3d.
Lastly I have to find some 3d weapons. I had them in Heretic for VR, but Hexen has different classes and weapons.
Strangely it lacks nn-upscaled sprites of enemies and weaponry. It is possible, however, to get them from elsewhere - in my case hexen_ds_PBR.pk3, an older HexenHD release - and add the folders hires/GRAPHICS and hires/SPRITES to the primary pk3 file of this release (h_PBR_v461.pk3). Works for me.
Very cool!! Do you remember which release you used to extract the enemy and weapon upscales? I'm guessing it may be 1.01, since someone in the comments of the original release had mentioned that they wanted upscaled enemies and weapons...
I hate to ask, but is there any way to remove the motion blur and PBR effects to make this more compatible with potatoe PCs? (Boil em up, mash em up, stick em in a stew)
very very nice!

Execution could not continue.

You need the original file Hexen.wad of course. Put it in the Hexen HD mod folder and run the .BAT file.

I would love to use those sky textures with my mod. Any chance you could make a separate file?

Did you manage it? I’d love to follow in your footsteps! :D
