It seems i have a bug - I can't extract out of the first mission.
I've killed everyone, and all my soldiers are alive - I'm not sure what's causing it.
Nevermind, I didn't see the extraction timer.
It took a few minutes of running around to see it on the blue sky background
Yes, you can extract out of missions anytime via the extraction timer. I implemented exfil this way to allow complete non-linearity of mission execution.
