This mod is trying to make combat fell more live and strategic than vanilla. In vanilla HOMM V, 90% of the time you already know, how the battle will end, but now you have much more opportunities to engage or defend yourself againts superior force of enemies. There was lots of units in every faction, that were so boring and useless in all kinds of battles and in general everyone was using just 3 types of units to win the battle. Now its not so important to have 1 overpowered unit but more units with good positioning, but that doesnt mean that you are not capable of dealing high damage with single unit. Now you have two options during buying units in castle, both second and alternative upgrade now offers you choice between high damage per one shot/hit or high survivability and very good "team" skills.

Today we are going to look at Gremlin Saboteur. This unit is pretty outdated in comparison with other reworked units. His ability as support is very negligible and as shooter is almost the same as Master Gremlin which is, however, much more useful in terms of the role of support.

Our goal is to make him viable and increase his utility, so that he is be able to compete with Master Gremlin. Our last competition had 3 winners and everyone of them had the opportunity to choose unit for rework and design it. First of them is Gremlin saboteur by 忍 ﻞ S - PunҚ 忍. This user suggested his new mechanic and renamed this unit to "Gremlin Miner" .

In the meantime, this unit is still in development, but we can show you some features and WORK IN PROGRESS footage. Despite what you see, lot of things can change before release.

Ooohh man I was waiting for this a long time ago. Every day I visited the page to see if there was anything new.

The mechanics is a little different from what I suggested, maybe it couldn't be adapted, but hey, it looks good and a little more op than I thought haha. But you guys will know what they will be doing.

I will be looking forward to the mod and with new content since it is currently unplayable... sad.

Hello there, we just experiment right now, but of course, this is not balanced at all. The mechanics you suggested are possible to implement just partially. Because we cant edit spell behaviour, the mine will just have certain chance to stop opponent or delay him but without any spell effect (that mean, not like Academy mine). There is certain possibility, that we could find way to find those hardcoded information and change it, but not right now. To compensate this, this Gremlin could steal mana or ammunition. On top of that he could have some poisoned attack but with only few ammunition. His main role would be support on the battle field with high initiative and low damage output.
