"Her Eyes" is a total convertion mod where the story takes you to the small town of Ringwoods. You play as a young cop named Frank, who is send to investigate a recent escape of a patient from the local asylum, located not far away from town. You are told that you have to find this patient as soon as possible. Before...the medications she's been given wear out. Because as Frank will soon discover, there is something rather... "abnormal" about her and the overall circumstances of her escape are very bizzare.

In order to use the flat sheet hair, you just use a texture with transparency. It will look a lot better and will have much less polys than completely making the hair out of mesh

The hair will not be static. It will move a lot in some animations, so flat hair will look weird in my opinion.

Hmm looks so pretty cool. Are you using MilkShape for modelling?

Description

Just been trying to make hair (long one in particular) look decent. No wonder why Valve always took shortcuts with their female characters and make them short-haired. It's really hard making long hairs look natural and good. Especially in Half-Life. On the left you'll see my first attempt at hair. It's just flat sheets of mesh stacked one onto another and falling from the head down. I didn't like the end result. Then I looked at the half-life games for inspiration and noticed that they build their hairs with volume. On the right I build a hair with more than just flat sheets and it already looks better. It has volume, shape. I'm really liking it so far :)
