The government sealed huge areas to contain the Nereid infestation by erecting gigantic barricades. However, the Nereids reproduce quickly, the spores that they are secreting are more aggressive and the level of contamination is total. Sentenced to death are conscripted to serve as guardians, promising them a pardon in exchange for a huge kill ratio of Nereids .The most infamous psychopaths and criminals are enrolled in sections of extermination responsible for preventing the spread of the Nereids.
