a simple texture overhaul for the game that includes all the characters decorations and items.
first you need either the DX10 renderer : Kentie.net
or the DX11 renderer : Moddb.com
Recommended changes : edit the user settings of the game(Default.ini or Revision.ini or GMDXv10Default.ini in the system folder) and change CacheSizeMegs to 512
and change the Load Bias from the renderer settings (use the tilde button and enter the command "preferences" ) and change the load bias from either dx10 or dx11 to -1
1- install New and Improved (DDS VERSION) : Moddb.com
copy the folders in one of the options vanilla or Default or Augmented (DeusExCharacters,DeusExDeco,DeusExItems) into the textures folder of the main game if you are playing GMDX , Vanilla Game.
************************************************************************************
2- install either the GMDX addon with the HDTP addon if you are playing GMDX and copy the 6 folders in one of the options (Vanilla or Deafult) into the textures folder of the main game.
Moddb.com
OR install Revision addon with the HDTP addon by copying the the folders in one of the options vanilla or Default or Augmented (DeusExCharacters,DeusExDeco,DeusExItems) into the textures folder of revision
Moddb.com
************************************************************************************
3-the Normal Map Addon is optional it has some extra stuff like augmented option to GMDX Moddb.com
************************************************************************************
4-finally install the new vision addon by copying all the folders in the NEW VISION ADDON folder to the textures folder of either the main game if you play GMDX or the textures folder of Revision if you have it on
and replace since this addon updates alot of the old textures(some folders like DeusExDeco has a Vanilla folder inside it alongside the Skins folder if you play the game with the vanilla option you copy and replace its contents into the skins folder)
the fixes folder contains TWO fixes for the main mod and the GMDX addon and pick which option you play the game with you copy and replace over the older textures
this method of instillation is to be used with the PCX version of the mod.
this addon is to be used alongside new vision 1.5 by DaveW,this addon covers the rest of the environmental textures that weren't updated by 1.5 it also...
The textures are baked with normal map layer which adds extra detail and depth ,copy and replace the old files in the textures folder, this addon also...
this contains edited textures from revision decorations and some hdtp items and decorations and enemies and an updated Extras folder for the alt JC outfits...
this addon contains more detailed versions of the extra content added by GMDX (new npces and items and decorations) for the DDS version copy the 6 folders...
this version wont effect load times and requires manual importing for the
DX10 renderer is required -copy the folders in one of the options vanilla or Default or Augmented (DeusExCharacters,DeusExDeco,DeusExItems) into the textures...
Highest Rated (3 agree) 10/10
I'm sure many people may disagree with my rating, and that's fine, as my rating is purely an opinion, and I could see other opinions not reaching the same conclusion. UPDATE: Having installed the DDS versions and cross-comparing, I have to completely scrap my old review and start again. I know, it's been 1 day exactly. Anyways, this mod uses AI upscaling, along with what seems to be some layering and source images to use as references. Effectively, there are 3 versions, but I'll only be reviewing…

When I'm installing all these textures in Revision mod, do I just copy all of them in the single textures folder? Because there're hdtp and new vision folders already here. Do I just leave them be?
yeah copy DeusExCharacters DeusExDeco DeusExItems into the textures folder of revision along side the revision and new vision addons contents follow the instructions Moddb.com
How do I install the Helios Texture Overhaul mod for GMDX?
Moddb.com
Love the mod, looks great. And on top of that you can customize JC easily.
Is there a 128x128 version of infoportraits though? Infolink portraits look quadrupled in my game.
the infolink portraits are 64x64 which is the default size i tried increasing them but it makes them go out of bounds i play at 1080p
Btw thanks for making alternative skins for JC, i'm really having a ball with customization ;)
I play in 1080p. I had to switch to portraits from unified deus ex, they are 128x and work as intended. But they are just resized vanillas and dont look as good as yours. I would do it myself if i knew how to work with utx. But i wasted few hours already. This game is too hard to edit for me.
sure will add those in the next update
Hey, I'm a bit confused, what files should I download if I have New Vision and HDTP ?
the dds version + hdtp addon + new vision addon Moddb.com
Is it ok if I don't use Revision ?
if you don't have it installed there is no need to use its addon
Yes but the HDTP addon is also the Revision addon, and I only need the HDTP one, should I just skip that addon and only use the New Vision one ?
you just copy the hdtp parts from the addon (HDTPCharacters,HDTPDecos,HDTPItems)
(Woops wanted to delete the thanks message I posted before because I took too much space xD) For the LODBias I don't have Direct 3D 10 support like on Kentie.net, for Direct X I just have the Direct 3D support (and others, but no direct x). The only place where I can change LODBias is in OpenGL. I also have a " S3 MeTaL" but it fails to load. Is there like a file where I can change the LODBias directly for the dx10?
read the tutorial for the dx 10 renderer it shows how to open preferences Kentie.net
I opened preferences but I can't see any " Direct 3D 10 Support", I even reinstalled the dx 10 renderer
sorry never had a problem like this, try to install the dx11 renderer and see Moddb.com
Yeah I understand, anyway thanks for your help !
