#here is a discord server for feedback if you have problems with the changes made or have ideas on improving the mod or ideas for alt outfits please leave them here : Discord.gg

first you need either the DX10 renderer : Kentie.net
or the DX11 renderer : Moddb.com
Recommended changes : edit the user settings of the game(Default.ini or Revision.ini or GMDXv10Default.ini in the system folder) and change CacheSizeMegs to 512

and change the Load Bias from the renderer settings (use the tilde button and enter the command "preferences" ) and change the load bias from either dx10 or dx11 to -1

1- install New and Improved (DDS VERSION) : Moddb.com
copy the folders in one of the options vanilla or Default or Augmented (DeusExCharacters,DeusExDeco,DeusExItems) into the textures folder of the main game if you are playing GMDX , Vanilla Game. OR the textures folder of revision if you play revison

************************************************************************************

2- install either the GMDX addon with the HDTP addon if you are playing GMDX and copy the 6 folders in one of the options (Vanilla or Deafult) into the textures folder of the main game.
Moddb.com

OR install Revision addon with the HDTP addon by copying the the folders in one of the options vanilla or Default or Augmented (DeusExCharacters,DeusExDeco,DeusExItems) into the textures folder of revision
Moddb.com

************************************************************************************

3-the Normal Map Addon is optional it has some extra stuff like augmented option to GMDX Moddb.com

************************************************************************************

4-finally install the new vision addon by copying all the folders in the NEW VISION ADDON folder to the textures folder of either the main game if you play GMDX or the textures folder of Revision if you have it on
and replace since this addon updates alot of the old textures(some folders like DeusExDeco has a Vanilla folder inside it alongside the Skins folder if you play the game with the vanilla option you copy and replace its contents into the skins folder)

the fixes folder contains TWO fixes for the main mod and the GMDX addon and pick which option you play the game with you copy and replace over the older textures

This is some amazing work, don't need any HD models with your texture work.. Quick question though, do you plan on doing The Nameless Mod HD textures?

Hey Berzerker, can you look this over and tell me if this seems correct?

I did a clean reinstall of my steam copy of GOTY for this update for DX 11, and then re-added the mods in this order:
---------------------------------------
1. Kentie launcher deus-ex.exe replacement
2. DX 11 Renderer
3. Helios HD .DDS update to /textures folder

4. Helios GMDX map/world textures update (NOT the GMDX.exe update, to /texture folder (I went with 'default')

5. Ran the Official GMDX updater .exe, download from their page on ModDB

6. Ran the New Vision add-on offical .exe updater
7. Helios NEW VISION ADDON extra texture updates, copied to /textures

8. Parallax Occlusion bumpmaps add-on, copied to /textures (half depth full height)

9. I copied the HDTP deco texture pack copies to the /textures folder, didn't work (!!!) instructions were unclear from the Helios page

10. Ran HDTP official updater... SORT OF WORKS (?) This doesn't want to play nice with GMDX (Messed up the Helios texture pack and also the bump mapping when running from the GMDX launcher) however it *does* *seem* to work with the regular gamer launcher.

11. Test run a few times, seems to work best on the regular game launcher and NOT the GMDX launcher.

12. Edited render preferences via the console command T/~ prompt 'preferences' ... HDR and Bloom are way too high by default, so I set those to 0.000005 and 0.000050 ...
I set tessellation ultra low to 0.000300. Tesselation helps a bit visually, but doesn't work super great in Deus Ex, so less is definitely more.

-------------------

I just re-did everything this morning to make the parallax mod work.

I haven't *fully* tested if this method makes everything work. I have a concern GMDX may have missing features, I can't quite tell because I haven't played GMDX enough to recognize its unique elements. Hopefully not messed up?

The good news: I think I've managed to make Bumpmap, Helios textures, and HTDP objects work. The in-game world/map graphics look great, the in-game maps seem to have HD world textures.

Reinstalling everything was a task in itself, so it may make sense to create a new compiled version of ALL the graphics mods used here in 2020. Had some trial and error here and had to reinstall HD mods in a specific order. Looks like a lot of people are confused. These updates are getting pretty complicated! They now come to several gigabytes worth of HD content, across multiple mods.

Hopefully this helps clear some things up for people.

Any thoughts/feedback appreciated, will update if I run into issues.

EDIT: tried reinstalling GMDX and it broke my install, getting GMDX to work is now a problem. Will have to re-install Deus Ex again!

Hello!

Is it possible to use any of your texture improvements with the DX9 renderer?

It is the only one I can use with nVidia's 3D Vision and I would not like to lose that.

you can with the old PCX version which will require manual instillation , but it isn't recommended since its harder to install and is outdated the dds version and its addons are far better and cover more textures beyond the characters decorations and items , there must be a workaround for the 3d vision so you can use the dx10 or dx11 renderers

Thanks for your answer.

I will look around for possible solutions regarding 3D Vision and the more modern renderers.

Hello, I seem to be having small hiccups and stutters, which seem to occur (as described in previous comments) when new textures load

I am using this mod with the parallax; new vision and normal map addons + Kentie's launcher and New vision itself

I have the DX11 renderer with precaching turned on, yet it still stutters

My specs are:

Intel Core i5-6400
GeForce GTX 950
8gb ram
Windows 10 Pro N

Any ideas for potential fixes?
I am very new to Deus Ex (infact the only thing I've seen from it is the 'training') so it's very possible I just made a dumb mistake somewhere, however I have exhausted my ideas for fixing this.

Thanks in advance, cheers!

did you switch to the dx11 renderer see in the display options rendering device the game will close and you will get a window with the available renderers choose 11 and change it ,check with the tidle button type "preferences" after you enter the game again and see if the option for prechacing is on also with the dx11 drop down options

Yes, I have changed it to 'Direct3D 11 Support' with precaching tuned on in the DX11 dropdown menu right after completing the installation of the DX11 renderer

I'm sure many people may disagree with my rating, and that's fine, as my rating is purely an opinion, and I could see other opinions not reaching the same conclusion. UPDATE: Having installed the DDS versions and cross-comparing, I have to completely scrap my old review and start again. I know, it's been 1 day exactly. Anyways, this mod uses AI upscaling, along with what seems to be some layering and source images to use as references. Effectively, there are 3 versions, but I'll only be reviewing…
