The SmoothParry mod removes the time-freeze that normally happens when you parry an object or enemy. This small change makes the game feel much smoother...

Finally got around to playing Odyssey and realized how cool it's physics are. This recreates what i remembered about Odyssey in Mario 64's engine.
I found this mod because I was making a similar one, and it's neat to see someone make this so early into Portal 2's life. Interesting experience
I'm kinda new to this whole modding Portal 2 stuff, where do I put the mod to use it?
I haven't played the unfinished swan to make any comparisons so I will just give you my 2 cents. I like the mechanic of painting the world. It's pretty simple and entertaining. I don't understand why there is a large wall that has to be pushed over. It doesn't seem to have any context at all. My suggestion would be to have it fall as soon as paint hits it otherwise you will have people stuck in the very beginning looking for an exit. Another thing I don't think many will appreciate is falling to their death. I was fairly careful in placing paint wherever I go but I guess I missed a ledge right before the office area. It seems arbitrary to even have death in a game like this but I guess that is just my opinion. You could easily let the player fall to the ground and have them find a staircase back to an earlier place before they fell. Also dying cause my game to crash, I don't know if that applies to everyone else. I think this has potential to be a really interesting mod but I don't think it's fun to paint the world, die, and have to do it all over again.
Thanks for the feedback! I will put a message on the pushable wall and I will see if I can put stair or a similiar mechanic. I'm thinking of implementing puzzle mechanics after this so I can expand the gameplay a little more. The original plan was to make this a horror game in a white void with black figures appearing in some points. You had to paint to go further and painting walls black made the figures almost invisible. Maybe I can mix puzzle elements with that sometime.
Did you crash when you fell into the street or at the end with tree and the pool?
It crashed when I fell into the street. I forgot but there was also a few missing models at the end of the mod after you go down the hole in the office area. Good luck with your mod!
The mod crashed at the same exact spot when I was playing it. I really like the game mechanics. The idea you've mentioned is very interesting as well (the more you paint the environment, the less you know about black figures). I can't wait for the next update!
Whoops, it looks like ModDB logged me out when I was posting the comment.
