Realistic Hoth : Open Beta Testing
Hello dear community, I'm glad to announce that Hoth Beta is ready to be downloaded and tested! -> DOWNLOAD LINK
Let me know your thoughts in the comment section!
It's looking beautiful: every texture has been redone, there are new props, new sky and background, something I'll call "3d enhancing" (for flat textures) and much more... You can find it in my mod site.
Why beta? Well, in my opinion it is far from finished, but it looks good enough for you to test. I want to make sure it works properly for everyone and to be tested online (I don't play online) before even thinking of a final version.
So, what's missing? mostly details I still need to work on but don't affect playability: some textures like the consoles in the command center, small generators, the small lights and doors in the rebel hangar, etc. Those are resized stock textures that will be replaced in the future. The area out of the battleground (le'ts call it landscape) is temporal too, it will be better designed for the final version. I focused on the priorities first!
This is how the map looks using my Graphics Mod. I warn you that the map may look dark without it, since I balanced the whole map to be used with the GPX mod (Reminder - white color triggers bloom...)
Here you can see some of the new props included + the redone HD turrets.
Beautiful Bf3 snowspeeder using Delta's GCW mod. (the map doesn't include new units)
Added that blueish look by mixing map effects + my Hd graphics mod. Resembles the new BF look.
I took some artistic license with the bunkers... hope you like them!
Credits: Gogie for the awesome looking crates and Delta's GCW mod.
As usually, not recommended for really old PC (meaning you can't handle BF2 + the graphics mod) as it looks best with the graphics mod on and I only care about improving graphics! I'm sorry :(
It will be awesome, if you could put a General Trench in middle of Hoth, where are nothing, because, it will be look more like in the Empire Strike back...
Is only a Suggestion of a fan of your job...
If you have time please send me a proper screenshot and I'll do it for the final version.
I don't know if its my computer or not but I have been experiencing some lag issues on hoth when using this mod. I am using a gaming computer with a Nvida Geforce GTX card 860m.
But my god, the trenches are soooo much better and it looks like a real battlefield on Hoth! I really want to use this version of Hoth so badly!
If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the 3rd person over the shoulder camera?
1 - What Issues?
2 - Thanks, it looks more real right? :)
3 - Delta GCW mod
1- I have been experiencing constant slowdowns throughout the map. Framerate drops are like everywhere. I should note that I am using the ultimate pack, not sure if that causes the issue.
2-It definitely looks very real.
3- Got it, thanks!
Well... I don't think it's the Ultimate Pack. I know it's supposed to be ok but in my opinion laptops have this kind of problems (same as AMD cards). Maybe it's the CPU, because the map uses some FX that require CPU power. I play with a really overpowered PC (i7 7700, 6GB GPU)...
its to bright but still like it
Did you set in game brightness and contrast in 50?

Also, I noticed switching your monitor contrast affects the Graphics Mod, so you should correctly configure that too. (I recently got a new monitor and had configure it correctly)
well i never change my brightness or contrast at all have it a 50/50
Is really cool
Can you put the emp strike (like ball) firing and the shuttle of the Rebel are flying it will be super crazy awesome.... That's my sugestion.....(and i wish it too, obviously)
I'm not sure if it's due to my setup, but running the Hoth campaign from the normal campaign menu causes the lighting to break. However, selecting the campaign from the Instant Action menu works fine.
The level itself looks incredible both from the Imperial and Rebel perspectives. I was having a great time if not for the amazingly stupid AI driving the ATATs, but that's not really covered by this mod. ;)
I had no slowdowns and in fact the lasers seem to move faster across the screen.
I especially enjoyed the area fog that almost obscures units across the map (Which is good since you can't hit units a certain distance away)
Overall, coupling this with your Graphic Mod and Reshade Preset improves the graphics of it immensely.
