How should spawning be handled? This is extremely important to the mod's gameplay. I have three possible methods.

In Hazard, I've been experimenting with various different types of zombie spawning. There are 3 types I am considering for the next release.

1. Fixed spawn points. This is what old versions of hazard used. There were set points on the map where zombies would spawn. This method is predictable but reliable.

2. Random spawning method 1. In this method, an entity is placed on the map and zombies will be spawned within a given radius of it

3. Random spawning method 2. In this method, zombies are spawned within a certain radius of the player.

There are pros and cons of each of these methods, and I'd like to know what the watchers of the mod think would be the best course of action. Another possibility to consider is using a combination of the above methods.

Why don't you use anti-aliasing? Otherwise looks pretty good for goldsource!

Yeah, and I don't use it because it looks pretty bad in Goldsource, just blurs the textures.

I agree, as long as it doesn't mean that the zombies spawn right in the view of the player.

When we were testing a system to implement this we set them to spawn close (for testing) it was pretty bad, so if we use this method they will definable spawn far enough away that the player has time to react to them, or out of the players view may be better.

LAN will definitely be added, although I'm not sure how well internet games work with XASH.

How about placing lots of spawn points and letting them get randomly selected.
The pros of this being:
*You can control where they spawn, if you don't want them to spawn inside of a building they would have to select points near to where the player was instead of randomly being spawned spots you don't want them.
*That reduces predictability (I'm talking lots of points)
*You don't have to worry about bugs caused by them being spawned inside of geometry, off the edge of the map, or all being forced to spawn in one small spot because the player is in a hallway.
*You can make sure they spawn in spots that they can pathfind/get out of, so you don't end up with AI running against a wall or standing still right after spawn.

This system could work well, I will look into it. Zombies spawning in world geometry has been a problem with our current random spawning system, only way we could remedy it was to have them automatically be removed if they're stuck.
