The Hardcore DX mod changes many aspects of the game in order to make it interesting to replay the original story again and again. The goal of this mod was always to make a lot of changes to the default game without modifying the maps and bring more action and combat. This mod includes several unique features that were not available in the default game such as multiplayer bots, alternative fire, new characters, new HUD, completely reworked weapons, augmentations, etc.
Description
This is a beta 4 of the 6th version of the mod. There is a few new weapons with new models such as SMG with under-barrel shotgun, new maps for the MP, restoration of lockpicks and multitools and other cosmetic changes. Now the mod ships with the installer. When using the installer be sure to select the correct path to the game folder.

Nearly all of the changes were implemented by Veronika and described in the news posted by Veronika on Apr 17th, 2007 (see: main page of the mod). There is also a lot of new and cool MP maps, 3 new weapon and several minor changes. When Veronika will be online I will ask her to post a more detailed change log.

i have an error when i try to start the game it says this:

Please check out what and how you install because it looks like only you guys got this error. I've already addressed several issues to Veronika, so the next release should ship with even more user friendly installer, but even now normally you shouldn't receive an errors of that kind. So please check out what and how you install, read the manual.
The multi-tool is no longer part of the keyring, but doesn't show in inventory. If part of the belt is clear it will be automatically shown as lockpicks have but to my knowledge it is impossible to access. (Hardcore beta 6, normal difficulty)
Nevermind, I checked through all the key-bindings and found the ones for lockpicks and multitools. I really love the teleport drone now and so no longer use either of the tools. Only other concern is that Equipment Recharger + Thermoptic Camo + Enviro Training = win. Possibly a little too much but I won't complain.
That picture reminds me of Half-Life (1)!
Does this work with Shifter/BioMod?
Yes, but it works on its own way and it's better to have vanilla rather than these.
