Wouldnt having an ichthyosaurus So early in the game spoil the surprise of seeing it in apprehension?

Yeah but it doesn't feel right to have an intro in Apprehension but also have it here, in my opinion, the should have the scientist killing animation and remove it from Apprehension, it would keep a feeling of progression (one of the things that made hl1 great in the first place).

i agree, there are other spots to add extra ichtyosaurus after the aprehension chapter, no need to show one this early without proper presentation

I agree. We put it there for fun initially and it’s actually awesome having something scary in the water early on. I don’t think it’ll be an icky in the final release—I’ll probably design a new monster for shallow waters.

You could make Bullsquids swim in the water and chase the player in the water (little like the ichtyosaurus)
