A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
The Strident-class is the most recent addition to the Navy's prevailing ship type, having entered service by October 2552.
Up to ten of these ships are stored within the UNSC Infinity's underslung sub-vessel deployment bay. After an initial assault, they are deployed en masse to deliver a final, crushing blow and mopping up any stragglers in the process. Notably, these vessels are equipped with energy shields, a significant development over prior UNSC vessels which had to rely on only their Titanium-A battleplate for protection.

Your guys models are the best I've seen for SOASE. Cannot wait till the next version!
Once again modelers save the day. They are real heroes here.
oh sweet baby jebus... This is gorgeous. The strident is awesome :D
Will it be a buildable ship, or can you only deploy it from infinity
Remember Stridents above Earth in Halo 5? Most likely that she's not Infinity exclusive in lore, i.e. the ship will be buildable.
But I'm more interested in her MAC damage comparing to Paris. This ship has a heavy coil MAC, while Paris/Charon/Stalwart have only light coil.
Plus, if I remember correctly, previously Devs decided that this ship will trade some part of hull points for shields. Does she still has a weaker hull, but easily regenerating shields instead or the ship will be a total upgrade over Paris in terms of survivability?
Battlemage, the Devs have already proved us they are willing to ignore canon in favour of gameplay mechanics/limitations - the Strident might end up being an Infinity exclusive.
And the Paris' MAC type isn't specified, so it may have been armed with a "heavy-coiled" MAC as well, which would improve its role as a ship-to-ship warship.
Of course, they may choose this option as well.
And for some reason I remember that Paris MAC was the light one. There was a discussion about Paris and Charon similarities, where nerds agreed that if Charon's MAC "holster" looks similar to Paris' one, then they must be both sharing light coil.
Of course, I can't know for sure. But it sounds good to me, because both ships have many common details and better MAC isn't really that part of ship, which may be stripped of for additional Cargo units. Though, I may be wrong. We won't find out, before a chairman from 343 decides to say "Yes" or "No" depending on their mood.
Stridents will not be buildable. They will only come from Infinity. They're too good compared to other ships in the mod at this time and the AI literally breaks itself attempting to get them researched and built.
so now when i think of the AI trying to get Stridents i can practically hear it going "must... have... STRIDENTS SSFLGRNNLSDFJGHWERCNLVW"
So, Strident is quite a big ship for a frigate class. Do you plan to do some work with ships and buildings sizes in order to make them more suitable to each other?
Or should we expect large frigates emerging from thin Infinity, like it's made in majority of RTS?
All ships are accurately scaled.
Sounds good. Then I have nothing left to wish, but correct XEV9-Matos pulse lasers for my sweetie Sahara.
I mean, in general )
To get the Stridents stats, take the Halberd's guns and put them on a ship with an average longevity equivical to
the Eion. (All subject to change, of course)
We want to have it a buildable ship, but it is just 100% impossible to do if we want to maintain the balance quality we strive for. Infinity can deploy them, but (read: for now) that's it.
EDIT: Ninja'd by the Kraken.
Pretty dank model can't lie.
I'm so gonna kiss you guys if it will be added into new patch soon
Could't wait for Strident-class! Good job
Urgh, the suspense of this model not yet being fully implemented is practically KILLING ME!! 343 or that board-game creator BETTER come up with a new product so it can be, otherwise I'm gonna have "[Content Deleted]" posts like no tomorrow, all due to something I read that already answered the question I posted before editing that specific post! My patience is dying due to hysteria of this model not being implemented fully (Y E T)! And yes, I understand that the ship will break the fragile balance y'all strive for, but seriously... UNSC is catching up quickly to the tech advantage the Covies have/had over them, so it was bound to be broken at some point.
