I think the forerunners might have had some self confidence issues, everything they build is massive. Possibly pointing to a lack of size in "other" categories?

Well there aren't many around. Maybe they really did have trouble... y'know...

All I'm saying is that the Librarian doesn't seem too pleased and the Didact seems like he has a lot of pent-up anger.

it does seem more likely the more you think of it. take bornsteller before the brevet mutation and he seemed like a normal person rational and all but look at the librarian and the didact and they seem like they need to.

the librarian seems to be so desperate she is turning to another species (which is disgusting)

I would like you to know that there is only about 5 particles. And these only render when inside the gravity well. It is actually EXTREMELY less resource intensive, relatively speaking of course. The model also doesn't have too many triangles, I'm afraid I forgot the resolution for the texture though.

so how is this going to affect actual game play, from what I gathered from the description it gives players somewhere neutral to fight massive battles.

It's a wormhole.

Dhoul is correct. We've replaced the in-game wormhole system with the Forerunner portal system.

Would this be the replacement for wormholes?

Just a thought... maybe it should be rotated on its side so that way the ships don't appear as though they are flying through the ring of the structure. Also w.e the forerunners happen maybe they could use similar devices except on a smaller scale ( like the vasari's phase portals that allow them to instantly move from point A to point B).

You don't need to post this on multiple pictures. Also, putting the station on it's side won't 'fix' ships appearing to go through it. There will always be part of the structure coplanar to the gravity well. AND, it doesn't look as bada**!

Agreed, we did discuss it being on its side but it looks way cooler like it is now.

A solution to this could be to make the part of the structure the ships pass through consist of hardlight supports. I know it still doesn't make sense for the ships to be able to pass thourgh them, but the Forerunners were crafty folk, I'm sure they could have found a way.

The way it is at the moment won't be a problem for clipping and such. It's massive.

Description

The Forerunner Slipspace Mega-structure.
Its engineering constraints are unfathomable to Humans and Covenant alike, as it exists on a scale no other construct can compare to. Stretching across the entirety of a gravity well, it is more than wide enough to have entire fleets jump into its center. The resulting chaos of those engagements is impressive.
