A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
Unsurprisingly, we didn't find 343/Spartan Game's Punic-class Supercarrier to be all that appealing. It was, after all, just an upscaled Epoch carrier with titanium wrapped around it - like a burrito of bad design.
However, it did inspire us to make a new attempt at our own supercarrier. The old Thermopylae-class supercarrier is going to be handed over to more sinister forces and our own attempt at a Punic-class Supercarrier is taking her old role in the UNSC fleet! In-game shots should be up sometime today!
(Credit to the illustrious Malcontent 1692 for his beautiful work on this ship!)
Well i do enjoy looking at pictures of ships :)
très bien~ =)
"The old Thermopylae-class supercarrier is going to be handed over to more sinister forces" means..
~ being a militia ships?
~ random events spawn ship?
~ flood infested ship? (worst case scenario)
One of the first two most likely.
Hopefully it's random events spawn ship..
Thermopylae-class and Punic-class is a nice combo to be.. ^^
merci~
Can We switch the names then? Thermopylae is so much more fitting...
Probably the first choice to make gaining really good planets more difficult.
Have to say. I like this ship better than Thermopyhlae-class. easy to spell. hehehe xD
I'm going to say, I'm now more excited about seeing the debris version of this.
Everything that looks cool looks better destroyed.
Especially unsc ships!
I must say this looks really, really good, and im happy to see that the Thermopylae will be present in the game still. so when is the strident coming? As far as im concerned it is the last ship that has to be added yet:

There has been some important progress with covenant assets lately too, everything suggests that we will be getting an awesome Christmas present this year in the form of a public mod release :) Maybe earlier.
Wow, can't wait, great work guys!
Yeah...That's the Stuff
Why you won't do 2 carriers? Thermopylae as defensive version, and this one as offensive?
Thermopylae looks more strong than that. Space loaf )
Also, what stats changes applied? Will it faster or somehow stronger, than Thermopylae?
Or just a thicker hull?
The stats will be relatively unchanged, however since last release the Thermopylae had seen some basic balance change in the internal build, so for fans it may seem somewhat more different.
Have you ever seen 3rd fleet ability in Armada III mod? Thermopylae battlegroup warping after you use ability. Let's say, ability for Orbital HQ.
You pay money (Thermopylae cost, costs of some escorts and carriers) and, after some time, UNSC backup enters system and submitting under player's command untill their deaths.
It's a good way to don't lose a good old ship.
In Armada 3 you can get such rare ships as Freedom, Niagara and Magellan only through 3rd fleet ability. It's a good way to make a trap or ensure your systems security.
Ofcourse, you never know what ships you will get and how soon they will arrive from outer fringe of the map. There might be 1 Thermopylae and, let's say 10 charons ) Or 1 Thermopylae and some number of Autumns and Stalwarts.
Think carefully, UNSC will never let rebels have something like OVERKILLING SUPER CARRIER. It's too cool for them.

That's a beautiful looking ship. Don't suppose that there's any chance that model could be used to 3D print a miniature to replace the titanium brick Spartan games offers? I'd love to field one of these on the tabletop instead of that boring resin lump.
