A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
The UNSC Thanatos, the first of her class, exits the Óriás shipyards for her first shakedown cruise over Reach.
The brainchild of VADM Stanforth and ONI's top engineers, the Thanatos-class represents a fleet of next generation battleships to end the Human-Covenant war. The Infinity and the Thanatos, cousin programs under Project: OUROBOROS, represented two answers to the same question. "How do we survive the Covenant war?" One a lifeboat, the other a shield with which to protect the remaining human colonies from naval assault. These massive warships will be exclusive to the UNSC leader Admiral Stanforth, and emphasize on being heavy hitters in prolonged engagements.
impressive!
Was there not a ship already called, "Thanatos"? I think it used to be the Halberd but I could be wrong. It looks like awesome. Like the 'tank' of the fleet.
yes you right, "Thanatos" was the name of the UNSC's destroyer in the older version of SoTP (i guess), before the dev rename it with the canon name "Halberd"
Yeah, we were flying blind for a long time in terms of established names or even designs themselves- the canon just wasn't there.
Looks good though, guys!
How did you get in here? Security!
Than(at)os ship
Than(at)os ship
OH (SNAP)!!!
Is the Thanatos considered canon?
No.
I've only got it yesterday and I've had a lot of fun just from it and seeing this is what's going to come next is bad *** and I can't wait to see it in the game.
Not the most useful capital ship tbh. Way too expensive for something that can easily be torn apart by a bunch of Covvie cruisers. Not sure what place in the UNSC fleet it was meant to take, as all the main roles seem to be well covered by already existing ships of other classes.
Variety is cool, I guess...
Basically a mauler. I've plopped a few in my fleet.
Let's just say the offending Covvie battlecarriers got hit really hard.
