Introduced into CMA Naval service in 2499, the Hillsborough-class Heavy Destroyer quickly became the face of the Colonial Authority. The Hillsborough-class was one of the first destroyer classes to be armed with a MAC as standard - outmatching the UNSC's own equivalent destroyer at the time, the Able-class. Hillsboroughs would continue to make up a substantial portion of the CMA naval registry up through the outbreak of war with the Covenant in 2525, and later utilized by the UNSC after the CMA’s effective dissolution.
