Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
The Gladius-class heavy corvette, at only 243m long, is an extremely durable and versatile class given it's small stature. Due to it's size, and extra RCS thrusters, the Gladius is quick on it's feet and is known to outrun not only plasma torpedoes, but even some of the Covenant's most fastest ships. The Gladius is armed with an 20DA1C2 MAC, 10 archer missile pods and, depending on variant, either 6 M870 flak guns or 2 M910 point defense guns.

that thing looks beefy than a corvette should be... A heavy one with 50mm cannon?
The turret is too big to be 50mm.
Was never sure where they got 50mm cannons from in the lore. The cannons on the Paris in Reach look as if they measure .5m across the muzzle, which is 500mm or 50cm. Even the turret on the Gladius, when scaled properly, measures 20cm. The big turret is 10m across.
and that, somehow doesn't even remotely surprise me.
