Here's something for all the fans we've had over the years and all the people who are still checking here now and then to see if there's new content.
This release marks an end to, what I have always considered, a great Halo mod. I'm afraid I just can no longer afford the time to work on this mod since I have my own Halo mod to care for, several other projects, school and work all together. I've always enjoyed working on this mod and seeing as I still do but do feel a decline in it, I have decided to stop before I simply hate working on H:FO.
I'd like to extend an enormous thanks to Ds, who originally allowed me to come on the team, with whom I've worked very closely later on and who eventually gave me the entire mod to finish. Furthermore I'd like to thank all the people who contributed to this mod, especially HammBoyTheDestroyer who's been really busy with scripting and putting all models we've made over the years ingame. And finally I'd like to thank all the fans and followers of this mod. We've always tried to make this mod for you guys and often we've had the pleasure of hearing your opinions so we could make adjustments to make this mod even better.
I think that covers about everything. Now, I'd like to wish you all fun playing with this release and I'd also like to advise you all to check out and support the other Halo mods out there like you've done with this mod.
For now(?), goodbye!
Abyssinian, signing out.
Will there be a download up soon?
Yeah, I'ts sad to see you go. But would you considered at least releasing what you have done?
It was a good run man. I have followed this mod for years, and the community around this mod was great while the people were here. Sad to see it go, but at least there will be a release. Too bad most of the original people aren't around to appreciate it.
Yeah, that is unfortunate.
you could give the mod to Halo:The First Encounter or HALO: Campaign Commander? they need space units and they got ground? but ya sad to here you are done.
That is a great idea even though you couldn't complete you could still help ones that will most likely finish!!
I agree that he should pass on what he has done so that the others could be done before this happens to them, but not give it all to one but to both of the mods. That way to be fair.
should be to all halo mods for FoC forgot about the 3rd one.
It's Covenant at War, although we are focusing on space mode atm for publicity (you know, everybody else was doing ground ^^)
I've talked to Campaign Commander, and if any of you know the_Farseer you'll understand that he wants to do it on his own. It will be years before he's done with space, but I'm sure that he will put HFO to shame. Looking at Campaign Commander now, I'd call it the best EaW mod ever.
awhile back i was given all asset for this mod by DS in 3ds max format and when i went to finish off this mod no one was there to help me finish off this mod it went under and i was the last person before hammboy to work on this mod and i had been on the mod team for almost 3 years by thin i was under a different name at the time.
but i'm very happy to see it released, it may not be at where DS wanted it but when people part ways and have real life stuff thing can change in an instant.
o and Hammboy your wrong about Halo:CC being the best mod, that has to go to republic at war or the stargate mod or star wars clone wars those mods have been in the works for more thin 2+ years and deserve a lot
Farseer DID make RotM, a 4 year mod. So Campaign Commander deserves its spot.
Well, it had a good run. Even unfinished, it is still an amazing mod. I remember seeing your ship models on Deviantart, which led me here and to join ModDB. Great work, Chakotay!
Nice to hear that ^_^ Be sure to follow my own mod then :P Halo: Fleet Command
Sad to see it happen as HFO was basically HHF's big brother for a long time, but atleast you released something playable.
We simply had to release something with everything we had. Though I always saw HHF more as HFO's big brother than the other way around :P
