Halo Wars 2 will receive a Windows 10 physical release thanks to a partnership between Microsoft Studios, 343 Industries and publisher THQ Nordic.
Those picking up the retail version for Windows 10 will also be given access to the Xbox One version via Xbox Play Anywhere.
The Standard and Ultimate Edition of Halo Wars 2 will be available at retail. Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition includes four-day early access to the core game, a Season Pass and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition - an enhanced version of the original Halo Wars (for Windows 10 and Xbox One).
"After working on so many titles together with Microsoft in 2016, we are stoked to start the year with another partnership. Being able to deliver such a big franchise to RTS and Halo fans alike, the opportunity to buy and own this game in a beautiful physical shape is something we appreciate a lot,"
- commented Lars Wingefors, founder & Group CEO of THQ Nordic.
Halo Wars 2 will launch February 17 priced £49.99, with the Ultimate Edition costing £64.99.

YES! My dreams become true!
The Holy Journey has begun!!!
Ugh, guess it is time for me to get a CD drive -_-
Cool, still sad that it will probably be through that crap microsoft game store thing I have never used but it will look good on my shelf :p
I dont know, I think it would be through a exe file since its a retail store game, same with Origin and Battlefield 3.
I dont know man but it keeps me up at night.
don't origin games still use .exe's like steam and stuff, I thought the main reason why people hated the windows store was because it behaved like an app and launched from a non .exe file?
:)
Cue the music boys!
Now to waiting for someone to do what MS should do and make it work with better available windows instead of strictly win 10.
Windows 10 is the best windows. 8/8.1 is terrible and 7 isn't as good as 10. Only reason to not upgrade is the very rare game not working correctly, which in my 200+ games I've encounter one and know of one other. I was very apprehensive about Win10 because of the potential privacy intrusion and compatibility with decades old games. I've closed off my PC from Microsoft and closed their loopholes, and game compatibility is much better than I anticipated.
That sounds good but I'm more look forward to this mod on C&C3;
