The fate of the entire human race rests in your hands. Lead it to victory, or crush it as you march to salvation!
that is sweet.
Now those Pelicans have something to fear!
Thanks guys :)
oe too many 'A's... but who's counting??? =D
AAA stands for "Anti-Air Artillery" btw so three As is fine. I never got it till I used Wikipedia to look it up.
the third "A" is for awesome.
Anti-Air Awesomeness xD
All the As are for awesome
This was my favorite vehicle to use in Halo 3. I was really hoping to see it in Halo Wars, but they let me down :(
The list of cool things in Halo Wars:
- Physics for vehicles (although they were intended for infantry as well but were F-ing broken!!)
- Decent shaders and env textures.
- Pretty good interface for a console rts.
- The "Monsters" cutscene was awesome except that all the Elites died pathetically, when they should be a Spartan's equal.
List of CRAP in Halo Wars:
- Low poly units that strayed from the original Halo designs.
- Sorry, but the orange windows on all UNSC craft ****** me off. Visors are orange but not the goddam windows!
- Lame-***, cannon-breaking, story.
- Slack-jawed Arbiter
- Whatever the hell that crap excuse for a Covenant cruiser was. Horrible art direction on that.
- No Master Chief or Cortana
- No upgradable squads...either you have ARs or nothing and RPG as an ability? Maybe I'm just spoiled because of the upgrade systems in Dawn of War and Company of heroes...but that's the bar now and they didn't reach it.
- Made up units. Sorry, I hate stuff that strays from cannon.
- Original soundtrack. Sorry but whoever thought they could do justice to a Halo game and not have Martin O'Donnell written on their birth certificate needs a reality check.
- This list goes for a while.....
Agreed on all those point.
On the wraith. Very awesome. So in a fight between 10 of these and 10 scorpions, who wins?
Most likely the Scorpions, simply because they have a higher rate of fire. Though, it would be close.
they had it in halo wars if you pre-ordered it.
That was the Honor Guard Wraith, not the AAA Wraith.
Shiny make boom! Yay!
That's the first thing I'm taking down in a group of enemies. It looks to be as deadly to ground based units as it is to air based ones. I can see two of these things taking down two or three squads of marines and taking down a vehicle or two's health with one burst...
A burst and a half will kill A scorpion. Infantry are hopeless against Wraiths of both types...and both Wraiths are equally devastating to light vehicles and buildings. The best way to take them down, ODST squads (which will soon be equipped with SPNKR rockets), Rocket Hogs, and Scorpions. Support fire from Pelicans will also take a chunk of health out.
wow. were AA wraiths that powerful in h3? looks awesome btw
Yes they were. Six fuel rods, fired in rapid succession... I'd call that powerful :) lol.
ahh, they shoot fuel rods. now it makes sense
These things shouldn't really be labeled anti air. They tear up ground based units better than the normal wraith. And if it's anything like the game, I'll bet if you skillfully maneuver those new hornets of yours, they can dodge most of the shots.
If you play some micro and move them around during combat, yeah, they can last a while. Their rockets pack a punch against the Wraith variants too.
sounds like your really making things reallisticaly balanced
Ok seriously, this is the mod I am anticipating most out of all those in development haha.
Maybe it's a contradiction to use 'seriously' and then laugh in the same sentence, but who cares?
:) Thanks. lol. Seriously.
Looks like that Grunt wasn't fast enough and became roadkill.
Poor guy. lol. Can't splatter friendlies in the mod though.
The FX Mod and Thrawn's Revenge found a way to make it happen. In both of those, any explosive, from bombing runs to the scout trooper's thermal detonator, will harm both friend and foe, which makes for much more realism and tactics.
Although I'm a TR member, I don't know how they did it, but I'm sure Corey or codeuser could tell you.
I know they've done it but I don't like it. I love the mods but I just don't find friendly fire to be conducive to RTS gameplay, personally. There is only one game that really pulls this off well, Total Annihilation.
Imo it would make things imbalanced. Since if you are in trouble you can just call in bombing runs to your own position and it kills the enemy right in front of you (and in most cases the enemy wont run away) while your own units can still even go on and fire. It makes a huge diffrence if your units get damaged from your own weapons or not.
will the AA wraiths actually be able to shoot down UNSC fighters in the mod, because in Halo 3 they count shoot a stationary hornet.
This Hornet isn't a fighter, firstly. It's more on par with modern helicopters and would fall more into the category of gunship, albeit a light one. Anyway, fighters, like the Long and Shortswords, move too fast to be shot down by the AAA Wraith. Hornets and Falcons will not fare so well, however.
woot! falcons! (yes i know they suck, but hey! dont they just llok so cool?)
They actually aren't that bad. They will function as a transport unit like the Galofree HTT...only they can also play a combat role.
that will be awesome :D
its pretty much a flying warthog, and very useful in ctf
lookin good my man, always sexy work. On a side note, you preordered Halo Anniversary Edition yet?
No and probably won't I'm excited, don't get me wrong...but every pre-order I've ever done has gotten "lost in the records". Bye bye $5 and the excitement of playing on the first day.
Lookin' awesome. Seriously never praised a mod before.
Then again, there's awesome...
Then there's Farseer Awesome, which is a different category of awesome.
Guess it goes without saying where this one falls...
Thank you sir :)
ahh the mighty oh ****ing cr*p tank
lol. Indeed :)
