started production when the Half Life Improvement Team stopped working on theirs. Our project would have never began if the Half Life Improvement Team hadn't inspired me to continue their work. Our goal is to finish what they started and provide even even more options for model choices. We work hard in our spare time to get every single high quality model that was made for Half-Life 1 (goldsource) and port it to the Source engine with enhanced textures and shaders. The map textures are another thing we're bringing up to Source quality. We might even port some old campaigns like Uplink to Source.
There's so much to do in such little time.
You will have he option to choose what YOU want included in the game. Choose from tons of different NPC models, weapon models sounds, or other Half-Life model replacement mods ported to source.
You will need TortiseSVN from Tortoisesvn.tigris.org
Everything you need is on that SVN. No I will not use anything other than this SVN because there is too much content to be hosted somewhere else, also the fact that I tend to screw things up and break something after I release it.
For more information on the project, please read the Facepunch thread.

After Shotgunguy and I stopped watching paint dry, we decided it's time to update the SVN.
Now I know how much we all loved the invisible human grunts, but its time we part with our stealthy soldiers and accept the opaque enemies we once fought. Shotgunguy also made some pretty sweet skins to go with them.
I finally finished my Vortigaunt Slave replacement. And if you're using the Nightstalker Variation that's receiving a HD upgrade. Or if you just like the old model we had you can get it from the Variations.
But that's not all! End of Day's M4 is now the default 9mm AR weapon. And you can toggle attachments for in from the Variations, but if you're a classic Half-Life one die hard like me you can use my MP5 from Paranoia as your MP5. It has human grunt support so you won't have to worry about them shooting at you with a M4 and dropping an MP5.
Now I know at this point you're about to have a heart attack from all these updates being added in this short span of time so get ready for your heart to implode from awesomeness. We're also finally adding a new shotgun that has sweet animations, no shell bug, and a togglable fold stock. The foldstockless model also has human grunt support.
Are you still alive at this point? Probably not but if you are there's still more to come. We fixed the 9mm shell not having a texture for those of you who haven't been with us since the start of this project. And I'm planning on adding some other variations to top this all off.
Now if you want to read all that without threat of your life you better read the boring old changelog:
Added: Ambient Impact's Vortigaunt with material update.
Added: End of Day's M4 as the default M4.
Added: End of Day's and H4wK's Shotgun as the default shotgun. Which includes a variation without a foldstock.
Added: High res version of the Nightstalker Vortigaunt.
Added: New Camo patterns for the Human Grunt.
Added: MP5 from Paranoia to Variations.
Added: Mini Freeman as a Snark Variation
Added: Several new HUD sprites to Variations
Added: Vortigaunt slave from HL2 as an Islave replacement.
Fixed: Invisible Human Grunts.
Fixed: No texture for 9mm shells.
Map porting and other news. ModDB wants me to make this summary atleast 50 characters long.
How to use the variations folder... Because some of you have asked how to use it, even though it's pretty simple to figure out on your own.
This is a port of CS_Backalley from Counter-Strike 1.6, it's set up to be ready for Trouble in Terrorist Town but can be used for posing as well. When...
Half-Life Deathmatch: Source Playermodels for Garry's mod.
I've been telling you guys about these for a while and I never got around to releasing them. I'm not adding them to the SVN yet because I still need to...

So how do I install this? I wasn't able to find the HL source folder and when I tried to find it by going through steam's browse local files option it took me to the Half life 2 folder.

I tried the latest Barney model from the SVN in Half-Life: Source, but his mouth doesn't move right when he talks.

Link is broken
Sorry it took a year to notice this issue. I'm not sure why Sourceforge changed their link path but the project still exists on there. I've updated the link in the summary. Thank you.
I managed to fix some of the issues with the mod:
- missing reload sounds for the glock/357/mp5/crossbow
- wrong hud icon for the mp5
- purple hands for the mp5
I wanted to add the fix in the addons section but it seems like I don't have permission to add it, so here's the file with the fixes (to extract in hl1_hd) : Mediafire.com
I didn't know anything about compiling/decompiling HL2 models so my way of fixing these issues may not be the cleanest. Feel free to suggest a better solution if you know one.
You have to place the content in "steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl1_hd" for it to work. There are some minor visual glitches though.
I put in on my hl2 folder where h1 is and it doesn't work
