This is a mess.
The file here on ModDB, Beta 1.4, contains everything from the original Half-Life except the HL.exe executable you need to actually run it. If you grab Xash3D, as the readme suggests, you basically have a complete copy of Half-Life for free.
Pretty sure that's not entirely legal!
As for the Escape From The Death mod itself... it's an already existing mod called 'Assassin Mark 2' by Stuart Maine, repackaged with some custom models and a tweaked titles.txt to change the credits. That's it.
The entire package here is nothing more than a blatant theft of others work, cobbled together in a package that doesn't even work correctly.
DON'T. BOTHER.
You should consider renaming it. EFTD means Escape From The Darkness and it's an existing Half-Life mod.
