Hello everyone,
I cannot believe it has been over two years since I released this. It has gone by so quickly. Furthermore, who could have foreseen the challenges and hardship this year would bring us all. I sincerely hope you are all managing okay. At the very least, things appear to be slowly improving on the whole and hopefully we are going to start seeing a brighter time ahead of us.
I still get feedback and praise about Echoes on almost a daily basis and I just wanted to make a post to thank you all for that. You all have helped lift my spirits during tough times!
Also, who could have ever imagined a new Half-Life title finally being released after so long!!! It is absolutely incredible by the way, for those of you lucky enough to have experienced it. Valve are back, and I missed them.
I have just released the source code and map files for version 1.4 as a few people had requested it - I hope you find it useful in some way.
Lastly, people have asked if I will do more modding in the future. I do have a lot of great ideas milling around, and hope to one day realise them, but being a parent takes a lot out of you! It is wonderful and exhausting, haha. I cannot wait to get my son into Half-Life but it may be some time yet...

this was awesome. im shocked at how good it is. god damn im already sad i will never be able to enjoy that like the first time. Just wow. Hit the Half-Life feel, gameloop, everything right on the head. good job man.
This was breathtaking, so many fine details, incredible sequences and a regular change of pacing, lot's of lore from the universe, intro and outro were amazing.
A must play, for sure.
when I open the game it gives me a image of the echoes mod and plays the sound of the game, but afther the screen is all black and all I can see is my mouse, anyone knows what is happening, the same seems to be happening is the normal game, just half-life.
this mod needs to be on steam

I Have error this game, could not load library, it's was joke?
I'm not really a fan of mods based on original half-life story. But i tried and i haven't regret it. i strongly recommend you to try this one out too.
So the story is basically half-life 1 from a different perspective.
I like the fact that the voice lines were reused from the other half life games. I'm not spoilering but at some point it looked like the voice lines were made specifically for this mod. +1 point for immersive aspect of the mod.
Custom animations for NPCs are also worth mentioning.
The mod is kind of straight-forward. There is not a lot to explore beside the main plot. The only reward for investigating, for instance, women's WC, is the weapon you would otherwise get later anyway.
To cut a long story short, solid 9. Hope this review will help you to decide whether to play this one or not. Cya!

This just might be one of the best mods out there, and I've played every Doom mod from Simon's Destiny to Ashes 2063, and those are the best in that field. Everything about this mod is fantastic, feels inspired by Alien Isolation. My only complaint is how bad the framrate gets, and I got a decent rig. This pushes goldsource to its limits, hopefully their will be a fix or better optimization cuz Echoes belongs on steam.
