You are Kovac, a senior agent in the covert Special Black Operations unit. You're deployed to Black Mesa to halt the next phase of the science team's plan after HECU forces are unsuccessful in stopping Freeman from launching the Omega Satellite delivery rocket... ...but you fail, the procedure ends up creating massive portal storms in the sky sending you and your team through a void to oblivion and back. You wake up almost twenty four hours later; the military has withdrawn, and everyone and everything besides your fellow Black Operators are now a target. To make matters worse, another hostile and more powerful alien faction has appeared in the chaos, further complicating the situation. The incident can no longer be contained, you must link up with other Black Ops units and prepare to wipe the facility from the map once and for all...

Actually, the HD Shotgun I can work with, it's just that stupid Rocky Sound, that I may replace in my own game.
Oh I won't be using those sounds at all, they're awful!
I actually do like the HD sound for the SPAS-12 with folding stocks, feels even puncher than the non folding stocks version.
However this is my opinion.

SPAS-12 is the best part of HD pack, IMHO. I fell in love with taht model the first time I saw it years ago. It was my favourtie shotgun even back then, and I never thought that the original HL Shotgun was a SPAS-12 before I saw the HD model.
The worst parts are, probably, the M4 that obscures the crosshair with its muzzle brake very often when it's in the Idle state, and the Beretta that ejects empty casings from god knows where.
I also always loved the Glock (even outside of HL) and MP5, though MP5 is, probably, the worst model in the LD pack, IMHO, (I really hate how the magazine clips through the weapon and fall down during the reloading sequence) and it is the main reason for me to want to change the default LD pack to something else. Also, I always liked the wrist plates on the LD hands more than on HD hands. I wish they'd only change the sleeve parts of the hands.
Actually kinda reminds me of those leather suit textures from the HL2 beta during a time when Gordon was supposed to ditch the HEV for what was basically the same thing, but edgier
