This is a great, great user-made mod for HL2 -easily one of my favorite HL2 user-made mods and one of the best.

Alyx accompanies Gordon throughout the mod, her animation and abilities are fluid and superb -she is able to crouch, run, jump, climb, descend, etc. more adeptly than she ever was in any of the 'OFFICIAL' HL2 games or sequels, amazingly.

This is a very, very well-done and long mod; some of the puzzles are very difficult to figure out and there are script errors here and there which required me to load a saved game and then try the same thing over in order for a door or something else to open which didn't the first time around.

The environments are quite varied and the graphics are very good. There is a lot of exploring; sometimes the battles with the combine 'bulls' are on the difficult side but for the most part the combat difficulty level is just right.

I rate this superb mod a 9/10.

An awesome mod! got stuck in some places, but was my fault :P

Great mod, extensive length, only managed to break it once

Feels like a genuine chapter out of a Half-Life game. Well done.

Excellent vistas. Beautiful scenery. Really feels like Highway 17. Mountains were a nice touch!

Great atmosphere. Loved seeing the spent rebels strewn about, bloodied up with scavengers scurrying off upon approach.

Little annoyed at the beginning electric water puzzle. Damn that some spicy water. But if I die (guaranteed if you land in the water at all) why you gotta send me all the way back to the Gman speech and that cumbersome box stacking vent puzzle?

Alyx was a little janky at times with one or two scripting softlocks. "If I can get this fixed..." as she stands on the opposite side of the map. I even pushed her right next to the power box and she just looked at me with those skeptical, judgmental eyes until I reloaded the last autosave which of course had a bunch of scripted events I had to sit through. Put your autosaves on the other side!

Solid mapping and good sense of forward progression. Tricky platforming and subtle puzzles, but always rewarding to solve.

Combat pacing was excellent. Great mix of puzzles, Combine, and zombie encounters. The latter was especially impressive, getting your blood pumping with surprises and high stakes run'n'gunning without feeling unfair. Rarely were there more than a couple zombies to swarm me, but I often found myself in precarious and challenging situations. Some modders know how to make zombie encounters and some just lazily slap a ton of 'em in an open room or hallway and call it a day. You know who you are.

Combine combat was tough and interesting. I can't tell you how many times those damn shotgunners ambushed me. The author knows damn well how OP those mfs are and loves to jump you with 'em. You'd think I would learn, but if this mod does anything right, it's keeping you on your toes.

Natural-feeling level transitions and good exposition without feeling clunky or overdone. Feels very Valve-like whenever I see the chapter name fade in.

The day/night mechanism added to the realism and authenticity. Entering a sewer during the day and exiting at dusk was well-executed and immersive.

Reuse of the Gman scenes was slightly clever, but overall meh. Would've been nice to see some new Gman sightings if this is the angle you're going to take!

Overall a triumph in Half-Life 2 modding. The environments were rich and well thought-out with careful attention to pacing in favor of never boring the player. Every setting felt like it could've contained twice or even triple the content. What Remains is a speedrun of a full-length game and it is highlight reel material.

There's a lot of fun gameplay to be had here. The maps are nice and there are a few puzzles to really make you think. Pretty impressive for a one man mod team. But there are some issues that grate. I had two game breaking scripting bugs that occurred no matter how many times I reloaded, one so close to the end that I just had to watch someone else's lets play to finish it off, which really negatively impacted what was a generally fun mod overall.

Interesting mod! An original idea with a costume for Alyx) And in general, she shows herself very well during the game: new replicas. mechanics, etc. Generally, almost everything is cool done, but a few bugs and, perhaps, still insufficient originality do not allow me to put a higher score.

This mod is the only I've played with Alyx as a companion. The battles were satisfying and well balanced. The outdoor environments were excellent. Good, but not so memorable puzzles and some not very detailed indoor environments are the minuses. Overall - very good execution!
