Now now that was all because of one valve employee's ***** cousin who later designed the Tripod vagina monster in half life 2 and the balloon monster one of them sounds appropriate to add to raising the bar redux

I'm pretty sure that concept is dark because it was drawn with a pencil or something (like many other concepts), the actual unused stalker model isn't even black.
or they didnt use that design because it didnt look good

I'm with them on this, I think making it a little more human would be more disturbing. Considering their past, it's hard to connect with it because it looks so distant from human. The more human you make it the better, even if it isn't totally accurate to the source material or reference.
The stalkers in Half-Life 2 (retail) look more believable too. How the hell is stalker able to move? Or how is it even still alive?
Maybe add a bit of crimson to the texture here and there.
