Ka-BOOM
very nice but if Source supports it, the effect really needs soft particles, you can see the intersection line with the floor and that kills the realism a little to me.
I saw some folks made these for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mod, (its OGSE or OGSR mod), its really make particles looks much better.
Yes soft particles are a good way to make particles more realistic, but source needs to support it, if not is a mute point.
Btw Chyvachok afaik original stalker games and engine already supported soft particles, at lest I think the ones after S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl do, I seem to remember that being one of the features GCS bragged about, soft water was another (uses the same principle), but I could be remembering wrong.
hi sorry for the late response, but
source does support soft particles to some extent, and it is enabled here. issue is: depth buffer used for it is ******* stupid and only goes as far as 192 units
it's not a huge deal, though, it does its job on a close-up. and in this case, i covered up clipping somewhat using the big glow
