After the destruction of the Citadel, Father Grigori was forced to abandon Ravenholm, and all the brothers he still had to liberate. He saw the furious explosion as a message from the lord. It told him "Thy work is not done, o child. Find another town to liberate." and so he made his way to the condemned City 14, determined to liberate the inhabitants and to wage holy war against The Combine for disrespecting hallowed grounds.
