Spec or gloss ?

The normal and specular are both a little too strong, it just looks wrong.

@Ashkandi
The effect is called specular. Gloss is for how big you want to have the highlight, most old engines will have a default value for that.

This engine does not do Spec well at all.

Actually, Gldsrc doesn't support spec. With Paranoia's renderer now it does.

Nice one.. it's just a pity that it doesn't apply to models, Paranoia always looked a bit odd with bumped surfaces but plain models :\

Yeah, that's right :(
Even though some models with SD textures could make things less noticeable. Smart prop placing could help as well.

It may seem that way only because of the relatively harsh lighting conditions, but I don't think it's over the top. It reminds me of the gritty S.T.A.L.K.E.R. look :D great job

Sexy, but what's the performance hit?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
SysOp. Author
SysOp. - - 1,039 comments

There's not a big performance hit at all. We use Paranoia which does some calculations before hand (at compiling time). Of course, a few FPS will drop since you would be using some advanced effects there. How much depends of your pc.

You'll be able to disable advanced features with ease, in case you aren't happy with the results.

why are these textures hd, while the outside ones are sd? is it to accommodate the massive amounts of vegetation? or are they older screens or what?

What is on walls should be less durable from metal so this give me weird contrast between clean wall and broken roof
