Features
Based on the award winning Doom3 engine, enhanced with fully customizable features such as Parallax Mapping, HDR, Bloom, SSAO and other high-end features coming from Sikkpin's SikkMod, Grimm looks and plays like a modern game. This mod will move to Doom3 GPL as soon as it is released.

Background
Heaven and Hell are at war and have been closed off to new souls. Human souls now wander in purgatory after death, unable to go up to Heaven or descend down to Hell. The angel, Gabriel, has stolen The Grim Reaper's key of the Gatherer's Keep, the entrance to both Heaven and Hell. He is determined to fight his way through the souls in purgatory and the Demons and Angels in Heaven and in Hell to regain what is rightfully his and restore order.

You are the Grim Reaper.
And Lo those that stand in the way of the Grim Reaper and His Scythe.
For Ever Lasting Death will be their Fate.

Readme and Installations / Starting Instructions

STARTING / INSTALLATION INSTRUCIONS:
Important: DO NOT START GRIMM FROM THE MODS MENU!

- Manually create a new directory called 'grimm' (lower case) in your Doom 3 folder.
- Unrar/unzip the RAR or ZIP file you downloaded into this folder.
- Create a shortcut to Doom 3 on your desktop
- Edit the shortcut and add the following to it's target: +set fs_game grimm +exec start

Example: "C:\Program Files\Doom 3\DOOM3.exe" +set fs_game grimm +exec start

Where "C:\Program Files\Doom 3\" would be the installation directory for your Doom3 installation.

If you still decide to start grimm from the mods menu, then after loading grimm open the console and make sure to type 'exec start'. Otherwise Grimm will NOT function properly!

IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN ALPHA VERSION IT MAY CONTAIN BUGS.
FOR ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES BELOW.

Known issues:

Issue: This mod is running very slow or lags in certain areas, but I can play Doom3 just fine on Ultra!
Fix: Grimm most likely requires more computing power than 'Vanilla' Doom 3. You have several options to fix this issue. The first is turn down the quality, by choosing low or medium quality. Don't worry the quality actually doesn't drop very much when you do, textures will lose some of their crispness though. If the game still runs slow, turn off visual enhancements like SSAO, DOF, HDR, Bloom, Vignetting, Aliasing etc..

Issue: I've turned the settings to 'low' but now I have a garbled screen whenever I move the mouse!
Fix: Turn of all visual enhancements, like Dof, Motion Blur, SSAO, HDR, Bloom, Vignetting, Aliasing etc..

Question: What is Grimm's Challenge?
Answer: It is a battle arena where you can hone your skills with the Scythe, quite addictive as well.
