This is my first review on moddb, and apparently if I had given a lesser score I wouldn't have to write one. However, I cannot justify giving this mod a score that is anything, but 10/10. For one simple reason. There are no new Gothic games. Even Risen 3 that was supposed to be back-to-the-roots game for Piranha Bytes, was not a Gothic game. There are only 3 real Gothic games: Gothic 1, Gothic 2 and Risen 1. Being given the opportunity to experience a Gothic game that I have not experienced before, is something I have waited for many years. Risen 3 came close, but I believe that this mod will provide a much richer Gothic experience than Risen 3, even though I must have played Gothic 2 atleast a dozen times. The chance to experience the Gothic 2 adventure again is worth 10/10

This mod simply makes Gothic 2 a whole new game, with features and stuff coming back from the first game (eg: Templars, Uriziel, Sleeper). It will be the greatest mod for this game ever made, and the mod author is simply a genius for dedicating such hard work into giving us Gothic fans a truly unique mod to enjoy :D

this mod could as well be a stand alone expansion.
Many mods aim for enchanted graphics, others for items and some for new quests or few new npcs' and maybe some tweaks in the gameplay.
This one however is what we call all in one,
areas graphics npcs updated graphics and game mechanics , the game itself uses new engine.
By all means this mod "requiem" is an incredible attempt of remaking gothic 2 after a decade and more from its' release date.

Because it makes me want to play Gothic 2 again. Risen is not Gothic and Gothic 4 is complete crap. This Mod looks very promising, Piranha bytes should hire people like that....
